Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

This will revive when outsource_lqa will be update in steamdb.
Yeah, we've covered everything until that happens I think.

It either is or is not the last pack (personally, think we've got Spring and one more, but that's just me)
If it's not a finale pack, Latin America theme, hopefully animal pack, seems the overwhelmingly the favored guess
If it's a finale pack, we don't know the amount. Could be anywhere from 8 to 20 (or 21 I keep saying to get to "over 200" animals)
Coati seems the most likely Latin American animal, Baboon and Secretary Bird the most likely non-Latin American animals
It won't be flying birds.
It won't be the West Indian Manatee, either.

What else is there to say, really?

Oh, the theory on that is some are thinking it could be a nice round number of 200, or marketing/bragging rights whatever for "over 200" animals by giving us 21 more animals, with 201 in total. All in the wording.

In honesty, if we do have two more packs and we get an Latin American Animal Pack, the final pack would possibly be larger than normal, like PC's was...you'd be looking at 12 or 13 animals for that, so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Ideal for me. I’d buy this immediately

I would buy this in a heartbeat. Adding the llama I can finally make a half decent petting zoo! Not to mention the useful pieces. Also ducks, which are always a plus.

Everyone who started the 30 something page argument on domestics are angrily staring at people who support that Easter farm pack.
Then let them stare angrily, petting zoos are part of a zoo experience and I want to replicate that ingame. You are allowed to feel differently, but to get angry over it is silly. I remember someone even pointed out a domestic goat is in the top 10 animals across zoos (I think it was in European zoos, it’s been awhile). So it’s not like wanting domestic animals is the same as me saying Planet Zoo “needs” dinosaurs.

Are there a ton of wild animals that need to be in game? Absolutely. Would it hurt to get a domestic or two? No. In the same way I am allowed to be upset about the lack of birds, but I would be a jerk to suggest we can’t get any other mammals because we need more birds first.

Dino Statue Walkarounds Are A Somewhat Common Thing In Zoos. And Birds Are Dinosaurs, But We Don't Need Non-avian Dinosaurs As Habitat Animals.
That is certainly true. I was more referencing living extinct dinosaurs, dinosaur statues would be cool as props! I was more thinking Planet Zoo doesn’t need a TRex as a usable animal. That’s what JWE2 is for.

Domestic DLC as the last addition to the game would be sad because so many wild animals are missing. But if it's NOT the last pack, then yes, I'm on board :)

I would have maybe added more animals from different continents. So, for example, Alpaca instead of Mallard or Watussi instead of Highland cow? Would be nice to have an American Miniature Donkey or Shetland pony as a domestic equid. Or maybe an Indian Kadaknath (Black Chicken), or an Indian Runner Duck instead of a Mallard?

Not saying I would replace all of your ideas, I'm sorry if it sounded like this! Maybe I'm not too eager to get a Mallard Duck in general, I would prefer any other duck, really. Budgies would be awesome though! :D

Per usual, the thought of a barnyard/domestics pack is really enticing to me in a general sense. Especially formatted like this! It's a great way to incorporate some of these more 'general' pieces that can be really useful. And some of your additions here are pretty creative/fun and some of them I haven't seen suggested before (e.g., the transport crate, covered wagon shop shell, leads; the animal food machines being donation boxes).

...But definitely not as a final pack. So if there's two more, and this were 2nd to last? I'd be totally down! So long as the last pack were a global animals pack with a few more habitat animals than we're generally used to.

As long as it isn’t the final pack, yeah I would love a pack for domestics as long as they aren’t too generic like a pig or chicken. The selection posted earlier would be ideal. However, a pack like this isn’t as important as finishing the actual zoo animals roster (baboon, SA animals) so I have the same opinion as @AndyZoos it’s good but I wouldn’t appreciate it as the final pack.

I would be super disappointed with the domestic animals pack. I think they are far from essential and I don’t want any more of those in the game.
But I get what many people are rooting for them though I would never support that.
It's not "essential" but I do actually think adding a limited set of domestics into the game could help with "realism" quite a bit as it opens up petting zoo, barnyard, whatever you want to call them sections. It would make the game feel more complete for me. Some of the pieces that would come along with a scenery pack (e.g., hay bales, new fence pieces, various farm equipment) would have a similar impact for me as well. IMHO, some of these things are far more essential for a zoo game than a walrus, musk ox, or even a baboon.

But I can also see why people would want to avoid them completely. All a matter of taste.

Out of all ideas for the finale pack, I think these are the most probable ones.
  • New World Pack (8 animals + scenery)
  • Global Expedition Pack (8 animals + scenery but would make more sense if it was just 12-15 animals)
  • Latin America Pack (8 animals + scenery)
I’m scared now because I think the new world pack makes the most sense because the last few packs haven’t had any focus on the Americas. Great for South America, but my baboon :(
