I think for the most part this is a better representation of whats needed than the standard listThere is another component to the meta-wishlist, the combined list:

Monkeys (especially SA ones and baboons) and birds (especially African and SA ones) have been at the top of it pretty much since I've started a year and a half ago. I think the demand is clear. Still, we've gotten nothing on that front for years. Going straight down the big list doesn't and didn't actually cover the most demanded types of animals.
- When I look at this, I see high demand for monkeys, birds, a few other South American animals, and a tree kangaroo.
- Monkeys:
- New World Monkeys have the highest demand. Nearly 90% of lists included at least one. Tamarins, howler monkeys, and spider monkeys are the most requested. The howler monkey is a top 10 animal. Other species, especially squirrel monkeys, have some traction, too.
- Baboons/geledas have an extremely high demand for a particular group of monkey. The Hamadryas baboon is a top 10 animal.
- For other old world monkeys, the most popular is the guereza. There is also some demand for an Indian monkey and the Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey.
- Birds:
- There is extremely high demand for more birds from Africa. The secretary bird is a top 10 animal. Some wading birds are particularly popular as well.
- There is high demand for birds from South America, with the rhea and pink trio taking the most votes.
- There is moderate demand for pelicans, Asian pheasants, and waterfowl, especially a duck.
- Other South American Animals:
- Coati: This is a top 10 animal, even with the votes split. Nearly 80% of voters want one.
- Spectacled Bear: This is a top ten animal.
- Ocelot: This is the most requested of the small cats, and still has a high position on both lists.
- Mara and other small mammals: There is some demand for some smaller, non-primate species from SA. The most popular is the mara, but lesser anteaters and bush dogs have some demand, too.
- Tree Kangaroo: The demand for this one is actually higher than the coati with the combined votes. 79% of voters on my list want one.
- There is moderate demand for an echidna and some non-SA carnivorans, especially the walrus, ABB, and some other small cats.
- I see a lower demand for ungulates, with a handful of standout favorites (musk ox, markhor, blackbuck, muntjac?) taking most of the votes.
- Not otherwise mentioned but also with some demand are canids, the hyrax, a honey badger, and reptiles, especially the perentie, Nile crocodile, and spurred tortoise.
