Probably not 5 different parrots, but a pack with 2 macaws as WE should be enough. Only 1 new rig with 2 skins, or even 3 or 4, but that's really unprobable, people want more variety, but the macaw family is really extense, so for me wouldn't be a problem. Also, dragonflies still have an oportunity, no? Tiger, demoiselle, common, the dragonflies would be a really cool inclusion. It's really surprising so many people think this whole 5 exhibit animals can mean 5 totally different animals which require new rigs for each one. Butterflies are like slap a different skin and it's a different animal not making an entire new model. I can guess these amounts of exhibit animals will be restricted to animal packs due to a higher workload making 5 different
I can see 5 macaws as a WE animal too by all means. It can be recoloured (well not like tapir hopefullyProbably not 5 different parrots, but a pack with 2 macaws as WE should be enough. Zoos keep dragonflies? That's a new one I've heard of since they can be a bit Vicious in my experienceProbably not 5 different parrots, but a pack with 2 macaws as WE should be enough. I don´t know if people can be inside with them, but i know the San Diego Zoo has some of themZoos keep dragonflies? That's a new one I've heard of since they can be a bit Vicious in my experience
Oh yeah I forget about those, they keep them in the walkthrough butterfly house. Could be a certain ratio of male dragonflies since most aggressive dragonflies in my experience are males that seem to fight just a little too hard in the wild. Anyways yeah dragonflies could make a nice wetland style butterfly houseI don´t know if people can be inside with them, but i know the San Diego Zoo has some of them
That is true, but in the case of the parrots I had mentioned, there wouldn't need to be many tweaks. Macaws would be the largest, followed by the African gray, the sulfur-crested cockatoo, and the eclectus parrot. Different sizes shouldn't be too much of an issue, methinks. On top of that, most of the models will need a tweak here and there; as we've seen with models in the past, like the hyena and binturong, a few tweaks will look good, as long as it's done right. And as @SalamAnders said, bird sounds are not difficult to find compared to, say, a striped skunk. What @KönigDerKaffeebohnen said
People really have to massively tone down their expectations when it comes to the 5 exhibit animals thing. Butterflies can be done quite easily and quickly because they are the definition of an animal that is just a reskin, aka, a different texture. On top of that, there are several people who collect dead butterflies, so they're quite easy to find references for. That doesn't mean it doesn't take time or effort to make a new species, but immensely drastically less time than for instance marmosets and tamarins would, as some have suggested earlier.
The fact that multiple butterflies can be done for a lower budget is far from the case for 99% of the other animals out there, so unless the next DLC goes for butterflies again, it is very much safe to say that we're going to get a single exhibit animal.
I agree with this. Back to the parrots, they'd really require color changes, alternate sounds, maybe a model tweak, but I'm general they'd use 1 rig. Am I correct on this? It's really surprising so many people think this whole 5 exhibit animals can mean 5 totally different animals which require new rigs for each one. I would say yes. Although for example, in case, let's say, that they are going to put macaws and toucans. The model would change especially in the head, and above all in the animations, but as such, the rig would be very similar, so surely yes.I agree with this. Knowing frontier we would get the most obscure macaw there isAlso, if macaws come to the game, i know for sure the first to come will be the blue-golden. The scarlet is typical, but the blue-golden is a freacking legend
These changes between animals are not at all on the same level as a simple texture difference though, so no even though they can do some last minute tweaks to models, I would not at all put these on the same level as butterflies.Macaws would be the largest, followed by the African gray, the sulfur-crested cockatoo, and the eclectus parrot.
I really doubt they won't capitalize on the WEs for the next few packs. They are very well recieved and much more popular than the normal exhobits, plus they allow a lot more flexibilty. Not only I'm not expecting to get 5 WE animals again, but also I'm not expecting to get another WE in the next pack. What I think we'll get next is a return to a normal exhibit animal, hopefully the chameleon or cobra since they are iconic and very popular, with them being at the top of the meta-wishlist
We got non aquatic exhibits after we got aquatic exhibits, so honestly, there's no reason to think we won't get normal exhibits again. Diving animals were well received as well, but it's not like every DLC so far has added more diving animals for instance. It's a tool in their ever expanding toolbox really.I really doubt they won't capitalize on the WEs for the next few packs. They are very well recieved and much more popular than the normal exhobits, plus they allow a lot more flexibilty.
Thank youIs thinking a walkthrough exhibit with 5 different bird species very, very, VERY high expectations? Yes.
Would creating such a WE be more much complicated than butterflies? Yes.
Could we very well be setting yourselves up for disappointment? Yes.
Does being vocal and expressing a desire for flying birds on these forums, the subreddit, and YouTube comments encourage and incentivize Frontier to include them? YES.
