Spring dlc Speculation 2023

I dont care if the Red River Hog doesnt add anything new to the game. I just want it in my game, please!

To be honest, except their unique look, they can be mixed with huge variety of african animals, which makes them worth in my opinion. Monkeys, Elephants, Bongos, Cranes, even the freaking gorillas. Please!

I still want boar and peccary more but you've boosted my interest by saying it can be combined with gorillas. I would absolutely love that.

What do we all think the odds are on not getting the African Crested Porcupine but the indian, or maybe even the much more different prehensile tailed porcupine?
idk why frontier will do it because because the Indian,Cape,African they look pretty similar, so Instead of giving the 2# most requested animal for PZ now, while the Indian have 30 votes and the Cape have 14 votes. like who knows after all It's frontier.. lol
I personally don't have problem to see African/Cape/Indian I just really want Old World Porcupine not only desperately want, I also desperately NEED.

and about New World Porcupine I also would love to see in the game to and get representation from both sides, and to show the differences between them. I would love to see from the New World Porcupine, probably the North American Porcupine the most, but I also really love the Prehensile Tailed Porcupine. I really hope this year we will get the 3 most requested animals for PZ right now, Tasmanian Devil,African Crested Porcupine and Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth I hope it really will happen.

I think there was once a thread where there were unusual/unknown interspecies connections.
This bongo ran after them at the beginning haha 😅 Unfortunately, there are no such interactions in the game

I honestly don’t see what that has to do with anything. Their views have no greater validity than anyone else in this community.

EDIT: to clarify, I’m not saying your views aren’t valid, just making a general point that I don’t think it’s particularly healthy for us as a community to say “but X content creator thinks it’s good”. So what? Their views aren’t special or more valid than the rest of us here.
Content creators are influencers. Some of them have more than 160 000 subscribers and their opinions are valid and important for thousands of people out there.

Their opinions are not more important than yours though. I can agree with that.

But how many people validated your opinion? Wait it’s 12. No further questions your honor.

And you think the average person knows what a red river hog is, or what is the difference between that, a peccary, or a warthog? To the average person it's pig but red.
Yep... Generally the whole Conservation dlc was animals unknown if you look at it. A horse is a horse, an oryx is some kind of antelope.... this game is for people what are interested in animals, so the argument that most people do not know....
Half of the animal species are unknown (read Southeast Asia, Grassland, etc.).

But what is it really about? At this point in the game, no animal is more important than anything, not even birds because we don't know if they will be in the game in the end.
Someone will write that birds are the most important (which I personally agree with), someone else that the domestic goat (which would also be a nice addition), someone else that the porcupine (personal sought-after animal)....
Also, why the arguments?

The way they did the armadillo and striped hyena's mane gave me hope
I completly dont get this idea sometimes.
Hyena mane are just flat fur textures lying on its back. These arent even animated or part of model (im not sure about this one).

Like this how it look when hyena turn around. Body moves, but mane not. It works, because mane itself is short and adheres closely to body.
On the other hand there is porcupine where quills make up vast majority of body cover. Its not going to look great during walking around and specific animations.
The most noticable thing would be inability to raise its quils, which is main porcupine gimmick.

To properly implement porcupine behaviours frontier still would need to somehow animate all quills.

Also my opinion is not more important than anybody else’s. I am just sick and tired of people preaching like their point of view is the only valid thing in the world.

What for meta wishlists were made if not to indicate what is needed by the majority? Denying the facts and ignoring the opinions of hundreds of people is just plain ignorant in my way of thinking.

The funniest thing is that I also want the wild boar and peccary but I respect the views of the majority of the community and I try hard to be realistic. I have only presented a different point of view and it was not discussed but cut off by people who thinks that their opinion is the only valid one and this is not discussion but dictatorship.

Try putting 2 males together with 1 female and wait for them to fight. The mane gets bigger then or when they feel stressed of afraid.

I dont think a porcupine would be impossible for Frontier to make. Sure, it will probably be more tedious for the animators to animate the quills, but I see nothing impossible here, it is a terrestrial mammal that will most likely straighten up the quills only when fighting with others.

A porcupine doesnt feel like an if but like a when. My bet would be on a desert or children zoo/zoo classics pack.
While the ladder 2 have loose themes, deserts really got alot of love in the grassland pack, freeing up alot of slots.
Collared Peccary, Crested Porcupine, Hamadryas Baboon, Something Australian, Dromedary, African Spurred Tortoise and Burrowing Owl for habitat and budgies in the WE sound like an easy slam dunk for frontier to satisfy everybody while also having half the pack rather easy to make

What a perfect Desert pack. ❤️ Exacly what my picks would be. For the something Australian slot, perhaps a Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby? Or Echidna, but not sure if they live in the deserts or not.
