Spring dlc Speculation 2023

This pack has left me cold lmao, although I'm VERY happy with the red river hogs and fossa the rest are... okay choices. Animals I definitely wanted in PZ but that's really it, nothing that got me pumped. I'm really disappointed with the lack of monkeys once again... This was meant to be THE pack.
Happy sloth day sloth people!!! Really curious to see how they tackle them in the current exhibit mechanics. Lackluster species pic, sadly. Linnaeu's two-toed boys would have been way better. Still, a cool new inclusion to the game, and a really hyped up one for that matter.

I am not disappointed and SA animals have still a Chance. I could Imagine a Woodlands animal Pack or even Aboreal Pack. And I already have written Yesterday. Frontier cannot make everybody happy as everybody has different wishes. We should be happy, especially within a Scenery pack, for 1-2 species we wanted. And since 12 Packs it is clear that the Focus is on mammals and that is okay for me. In a Scenery Pack there was no reason from the past to expect a bird and a Reptile together.

Red River Hog was in my Top 5, a Sloth is very good, even when I preferred them to be habitat animals. And I do not really care about the species. Fossa is a great addition and the Lar Gibbon was a species we could expect. Frontier often made this double Things and bringing the more popular species later. I personally did not need another Monitor but it is okay to have it.

All in all. The Red River Hog alone makes me very happy.

Actually I’m now somewhat concerned about all Tropical animals not included here. I know they can do any kind of theme but the more I think about the less I’m happy with this pack
Yeah, tropical was largely the final ‘canvas’ to cover the whole host of missing tropical species. Fossa pretty much kills islands, it almost certainly would’ve been the poster child of an islands DLC. The best one could hope for now is an Amazon pack, but that still omits many non-Amazonian tropical species.

As for the argument that the Brown-Throated Sloth isn't common in captivity, frankly, who cares? The Proboscis Monkey is practically unheard of in captivity, and no one seems to mind now. The Platypus is extremely rare in captivity, especially outside of Australia, yet everyone was hyped when it was revealed. This is a video game. Realism doesn't matter when it comes to captive representation.

No, Fossa does Not kill Islands which I still Imagine as a Scenery Pack. With Kiwi, Tasmanian Devil and a Tree Kangaroo there are still 3 Highlight species which will be filled up with a lower ranked animals, Like Japanes Serow, Raccoon Dog, Aye Aye, ...

Woodlands is still possible. I think all the animal Packs will be called biome-lands Packs and also Aboreal Pack is possible.

I’d argue it’s probably one of the least spoken about DLC animals these days? Largely forgotten, barely used in YouTuber builds etc.?
You can't say that when sun bear, sable antelope, cloud leopard and amur leopard are right there.
Also proboscis is used with a certain frequence, so it's not a forgotten species.

Indeed, however unique it is, there's so many other cool primates species omitted by Frontier that it gets forgotten. South East Asia animal pack is the most controversial pack for me anyays.

Exactly we get so many people saying it's just a game who cares about realism. Then we get animals that are not common in capitivty then iTs nOt rEaLiStIc

I think same people that are upset about sloth were about monkey and platypus too. Yes people were hyped, but not the same ones. I mean I know I'm yet to build for either of those two in my zoos

I think you’ve proven a big point. There’s two camps.

1) The realism builders/animal nerds who really want the the Linneaus’ Two-Toed.

2) the people less interested in taxonomy/science and just like ‘cute animals’ who ‘don’t care what species’

So why not satisfy both of one party wants one and the other doesn’t care? Nobody seems to be specifically wanting the three-toed, but plenty specifically want the two-toed…

Just because some aren’t interested enough to care, doesn’t mean others aren’t..

I just want to say that this doesn't mean we're not getting two toed sloth

Actually this semi confirms it for me that the next WE animal will be TTSloth

Fossa, RRH, Lar Gibbon and Sloth are great
Idk how I feel about water monitor... could've been coati to be honest.
Great plants and building pieces

7.5/10 for me

I am so happy with the sloth, red river hog and Asian water monitor! Finally another habitat reptile! Contrary to what a lot of people are saying here, AWMs are very different from nile monitors, both in looks, habitat and behaviour.
