Star Citizen Discussion Thread v11

Appearing with folks like Jorunn from the 890J circle jerk yacht club isn't going to do Zyloh or Ci¬G any favours either...fawning to a well known group of simpering sycophants when real backers are asking more pertinent and very embarrassing questions on their own forum but being ignored wholesale...top job Ci¬G community managers :cautious:

Watching the stream this morning, I found it very difficult not to throw up in my mouth...shameful shilling and downright patronisingly offensive to anyone who's been around Star Citizen and it's 'community' for longer than 5 minutes.

lol, he was getting donations and subs left and right. he was cashing in from the viewers.

Sure, but he also gets that from streaming CoD or whatever else. Why SC in particular, a buggy mess that caused him no end of hassle setting up and preparing to do missions when he could earn a lot more from streaming stuff that appeals to a wider demographic... unless he can't make much money from those games because there are better streamers out there.

Also, then why 1 year after he burst onto the SC scene did he suddenly stop streaming it? The timing is suspect.

Maybe he's gamedesign consultant on TOW

INN transcript/summary of the RTV episode:
Also for those that don't remember, INN was also indirectly paid by CIG to market/summarise Star Citizen & Squadron 42 information; when the news became public all the INN writers left to become Relay_SC, with one quitting as moderator of /r/StarCitizen for a year. Here is a thread wherein the owner of INN and marketing company Agency Oasis, Wolf Larsen, was in heated discussion over the INN/Relay_SC fallout:

Rexzilla had a 1 year marketing contract to promote Star Citizen 7 days a week - CIG doesn't need to pay him directly for that. His affiliation with Red Bull was no doubt influential.
Rexzilla's 7 day a week promotional streams, the regular Newsweek advertorials (some including Rexzilla vids/chats/info), and the Red Bulls' "documentaries" on SC and CitizenCon.... these were all part of the initial marketing push that the Calders helped fund when they became investors in Summer 2018.

He did play every level.

SQ42 and Star Citizen were finished years ago. All of the extra years and money was needed to add polish, to "get it just right" and not "spoil the suprise"

Yeah but isn’t that supposed to be a glitch too? Like you’re not supposed to be able to bypass shields without knocking them down first + knockout ships perpetually via EMP?
Shield holes are a glitch indeed and were supposed to be patched, but that is now so far in the roadmap it's not on it anymore :/

Also i'd point out that fast and agile ships like the small fighters are overpowered due a combination of really poor network code (huge desync, no lag compensation), infinitely powerful manoeuver thrusters that give them instant direction changes, slow moving lasers that they can dodge just by strafing around, and various glitches that are exploited. So a supposedly superior turreted warship will get torn to shreds without being able to hit that pesky mosquito..

Ah, Tyler is Zyloh... in that case, yes.

So, yeah, coming back full circle. That guy is the same guy that with the same straight face tells you now CIG has not "paid" streamers.
In all honesty, I can see how Zyloh could have technically been truthful on both occasions:
  • Zyloh played through all the Sq42 missions in white/grey box, with incomplete AI, assets, physics, etc. Just a different version of Sq42.
    • In Summer 2016 Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare footage arrived, and later that year launched, which destroyed morale inside CIG because of how bad Sq42 was in comparison.
    • CR orders "scrap & restart Sq42 production, the backers will never know".
  • CIG contract a marketing company. Marketing company pays streamers like Rexzilla. Legally-speaking, CIG hasn't paid the streamers.
In the video that Sovapid linked, Zyloh does openly admit that they give content creators ships (which are "valued" at hundreds of $$$ each, and can be easily sold on the grey market) to support their channels.

Also as per my previous example:
  • CIG contract a marketing company. Marketing company sets up "grassroots, fan-run news service website" called INN. Legally-speaking, the website wasn't CIG-run.

Fully agree. "Technically" no issues. The confusion comes when someone takes it at face value or does not recognize the reality behind the technicality and the actual significance for the management style, transparency and manipulation of it all.
