Ahhh - but - how many of those last-gen games have brought us helmet flips, sandwurmies, fully simulated alien trade empires and 10,000 player instances?
Most impressive thing about that for me: Someone actually did the video from in-cockpit!" It sure does look pretty. Has anyone been able to dogfight at that kind of terrain level? Is it all Topgun style missile lock warnings and trying to barrel roll your way to victory?Never said nobody crashes. I used to crash more between 3.3 and 3.6 but it hasn't happened to me for a while. Might catch some with 3.8 LIVE. SOCS is changing a few things under the hood. And you can't deny that it is an Alpha. That doesn't mean we can't talk about other games too. SC has a lot to learn from Elite exploration for example. Why does it always have to be negative?
Elite could learn from Atmo planets in SC too. I don't understand this weird release first then we talk? Games are very connected. They also learn a lot from each other.
Truer words haven't been spoken. Oh wow that is some dedication on the IC reports there bud. Thanks for the contributions. Yea people see new shiny and look past the oh this is a stress test and stability is crap btw post.

Certainly better...upgrading the QT drive also has a markedly better effect too. It's best to leave graphics talk to the professionals anyway.

Btw Mole what do you think about the QT changes? They were a little too long on the travel times before imo.
I'll take issue with the character visual quality...not even going near the rest since you seem to be on a roll of commonly and ad nauseum repeated tropes, misnomers and misconceptions there...

The same percentage as SC, give or take.Ahhh - but - how many of those last-gen games have brought us helmet flips, sandwurmies, fully simulated alien trade empires and 10,000 player instances?
Right...since everyone seems to be a crap mood and the thread is rapidly degenerating into the old 'SC is crap because' arguments...I'm off to go play some more RDR2.
Have fun![]()

wow hey flyes alone on an planet Surface. I‘m not impressed.
Not quite accurate since the PU builds are generally very stable..even comparitively so with other games/titles.
And anyway, I nominate Sayonara Wild Hearts for the best-looking game of 2019.Hey, remember playing the really good The Order 1886 with lots of fidelity and appreciating it for 10th time over, because it just looked so good? Yeah?
Yeah, me neither. It's like fidelity isn't the main game component, crazy, huh?
Less detail and on a small 8km2 map. Death Stranding is still the closest but still not planet scale. That is why just like Mole said. SC is another beast. It's first person level of detail on a planet scale.
That shot is not from 3. Also SC is more on the DS level of visuals imo.
I wouldn't worry about it. They'll be ending this rotation of their orbit in just a few hours. I mean, if it very quickly passes over its starting point, surely that counts as not actually having moved at all?Has anyone seen the goalposts? They seem to have been moved.
I disagree (timestamp 1m30s):Any spot you land on a moon or planet looks straight out of a handcrafted CryEngine level in SC.
Tho I can respect the amount of effort and time that went into the rip-off, its pretty impressive...
Why are you comparing a screenshot from 8 year old game Battlefield 3 (launched in 2011; the map is Alborz Mountains) to the no-revised-launch-date-yet Star Citizen?I would be interested in some visuals to compare. What narrative? Look below that is Battlefield on top vs Star Citizen
