The reason they have a game to release is because someone took those hard decisions. I'm sure they would have loved to put that stuff in. But at some point you have to stop and say "OK no more new features" and get the thing out the door. You forgot the "no fly on planets" or "no EVA" or "no ground vehicle"...

It's a perfect and valid decision to not add real ship to SF. When you strip all technical difficulties, you can release your game sooner. The reason they have a game to release is because someone took those hard decisions. Ah yes, twcenter - that was my go to ressource for editing. Totally forgot about the place.Hell, there are some really good mods out there. Third Age and Divide and Conquer are total conversions.
Third Age basically sets the game in the world of the Lord of the Rings. So you can play as Gondor, Rohan, Mordor, etc.
DaC expands on Third Age a lot more, adding a load more custom settlements, regions, factions, etc.
There was some controversy a couple of years ago with DaC though. Third Age devs always supported DaC as long as they kept the requirement to install was that it would be a sub-mod of TA, so you'd install TA first then DaC.
DaC devs decided to not comply and made their own full installer, which meant adding the content from TA to their own installer. This got them disowned by the TA team and banned from the most popular forum (twcenter) and any mention of them on that forum will get your post deleted and a warning from the mods.
So, links to TA are still there on twcenter and you can find all versions linked there (and on moddb).
D&C latest version you can't find there anymore... i think you can still get version 4.6 from moddb, but for version 5 (came out this year) you need to go to their Discord for the links.
If you want to keep the medieval theme there are lots of other good mods on twcenter. Stainless Steel is quite popular, although never tried it.
Anyway, that's enough from me on the topic, suspect mods will step in if we don't get back on topic.
Don't be giving them ideas, you know they'll be selling star systems for $$$.Instead, they should sell each system as it's own module, since loading another game of SC probably will be faster than the "jump" or whatever, to another system. I'd buy that.
Let my guess. Another SC killer ? Like Odyssey or DU ?Denial: "Why care about Starfield? No-one plays single player games"
Anger: "Bethesda scammers! I'm loyal to Chris!"
Bargaining: "you'll play Starfield for a bit then you'll be back to SC, anyway Squadron 42 and server meshing are coming soon"
Depression: "Starfield has all the things Chris promised me years ago, i can't believe he lied to me..."
Acceptance: "yeah, I'll play Starfield too"
It's bedsheet-crazy!Just realised CDPR are delivering a large expansion and a complete overhaul of Cyberpunk 2077 core gameplay systems in less than half of the time SQ42 has been delayed by since we answered the call in 2016.
CP2077 is another redemption story, and I am really happy about it.
Meanwhile, SQ42 cannot be even pre-purchased anymore.
Mmmnnnnuuughhh. I know people like happy endings but isn't that a bit clichée?Denial: "Why care about Starfield? No-one plays single player games"

You can modularly add a star system to your ship and take the quanta out of it!Don't be giving them ideas, you know they'll be selling star systems for $$$.
They just don't understand AAAAAA game development. The reason they have a game to release is because someone took those hard decisions.
The only game they won't be able to play in 6 months is SC.Let my guess. Another SC killer ? Like Odyssey or DU ?
Acceptance ! Lol. A vast majority of SC players have been waiting for SF since it was announced ! Believing that SC players are in a cult and are unable to play other games clouds your brain !
This wins the internet todayIt's bedsheet-crazy!
Because SF is gonna occupy most of their time. It's how MP games get cannibalised. "Is this game dead?" - Well no, it's just that a lot of peeps try out something different and don't got the time for yet another game. So revenues drop, maybe confidence drops and the devs may will have to bake smaller buns. The only game they won't be able to play in 6 months is SC.
The inability to fly over a planet's surface is a shame - it's an aspect of ED and NMS that can be fun (and helpful). You forgot the "no fly on planets" or "no EVA" or "no ground vehicle"...
This can’t be stressed enough. It speaks volumes of SQ42’s CIG deafening silence and the game development state and progres (or lack of it rather, as the case may be). That and a release date in less than 2 months. One significant point of note is that Bethesda have dropped an in-depth, 45 minute, video of actual gameplay of Starfield, all without giving too much of the plot away...

Remind me again @LittleAnt how you think SQ404 release is imminent?
