Just like database research would have been sensible 12 years ago.OK the second video (from 2 years ago) made it a lot clearer and made me sigh in real life. They have a purpose made female model and if by "retargetting" the September summary meant adjusting male animation, then that's a workload they imposed on themslves and it will never look right.
The video sounds like the guy is complaining about haivng to make a female version of everything though. It's just work they have to do and probably had been easier and faster if they (knew they have to) make male and female version of everything from the beginning.

A Galaxy? 500 people in an existing ship? On servers with ~100 players cap?for the moment it already offers a multitude of gameplay to try in a huge multiplayer universe where you can walk anywhere in a galaxy at 1/6 scale
the game has to date a hundred ships of all sizes, which can accommodate crews of 1 to 500 people
Dozens of planets? Exploration?Dozens of planets and moons to explore
Several professions from the most calm like exploration
Right, the civilian murder militia intensely hunts andto the most intense like bounty hunting where you have to hunt down real players who would have done illegal things
The bugs you may encounter in this Alpha [...] are quickly corrected by the developers who listen to the community

Has there been an instance where CIG has game mechanics out but only place holder assets, or has it always been graphical assets first gameplay second? The year-old 10/10 review from Lovni describes a completely different game.

Assets is easier and suggests the gameplay is coming - but it rarely does. It's just a bunch of potemkin villages. Gotta do something with all the artists on payroll while the rest figure out how games are supposed to be designed and developed today.Has there been an instance where CIG has game mechanics out but only place holder assets, or has it always been graphical assets first gameplay second?
Hush, now. You're delaying the development with your negative noise.Gotta do something with all the artists on payroll while the rest figure out how games are supposed to be designed and developed today.
they are clearly putting a lot of info close to their chest to make the 4.0 reveal an actual surprise, there's really no other reason for this. ...
I think it's all in an effort to close things down ... in order for the big 4.0 reveal to have a lot of hype and publicity,
CIG likely just want something 'grand' to shut up a lot of this toxicity that's been piled onto them for years now, so you can't really blame them for that. If people were more reasonable and had actual constructive criticism instead of almost daily attacks against CIG, devs, and other backers, well...maybe we'd be seeing Pyro in the PTU already. But, since we can't have anything nice because of the salt, well...it is how it is
"It's the audience's fault their being scammed and not delivered what they paid for."
I wonder if Suurströmming is the answer to keep the Bunnyman away.Too many people living in Stockholm.

Let it silently drop under the table seems to be standard procedure. No one likes to admits failures, although it could simply be fraudulent ploys to sell undeliverables. It served them well for shoveling money onto their private accounts so far.Not in a greybox sense or anything. But there have been cases like the Hover Mode where the mechanic came out before the UI was ready, for example. (And the designer felt that hurt the reception). IE:

The overwhelming rule of thumb though is: Sell shiny assets first. Possibly figure out game mechanic years later...
Not a chance. He’ll open a can of the stuff, dump it into a plastic bag and cosplay as Bagman for the sheer lulz of it.I wonder if Suurströmming is the answer to keep the Bunnyman away.
