Also, isn't it a bit extra stupid to release an untested version into the wild?
The backers are the testers.
They pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for the privledge to test buggy software.
Personally i'm waiting for the fianancial sector to catch onto this.

Have you considered the possibility that you might secretly be a very horrible and evil person. Don't give them ideas!Personally i'm waiting for the fianancial sector to catch onto this.
but if they asked for pledges without spaceships you can bet they woudln't have made 100th of what they did

But everyone will be back when the next big update will hit
I predict too that we'll see a massive come back to ED when Odyssey will be out !
That is a long-time ED streamer trying SC for the first time.
He gave up waiting for the bartender to respond
You had to buy in to test ED beta, too, at first.
Too late.Have you considered the possibility that you might secretly be a very horrible and evil person. Don't give them ideas!
Also, isn't that essentially Tulip mania or Beanie Babies?
First shown to the public at Summer CES 1991, the project suffered from numerous delays and was not released until 1993
The Strike Commander project took more than four years and over a million man hours on background development. Very little of that production time turned out to be actually usable in the final product, as at least one and possibly several complete project "reboots" were required to refine the graphical engine to a playable state
24 for the chairman.Quite fidelicious: I actually saw this last time I went to a pub, after 2 dozens of tequila shots.
What are fans looking forward to as the next "big" update for SC? Adding a new ship or two isn't a big update. Tinkering with delivery missions isn't. Even adding a second system would ultimately just be more of the same. What upcoming addition am I, as a backer, supposed to be excited about right now? Or are we supposed to be pinning all our hopes on Squadron 42? I'm not being (entirely) facetious, it's been a couple of years of almost zero gameplay development progress, the "roadmap" has been gutted and replaced entirely, Roberts has been MIA for the best part of a year, and it's been a long time since what I would consider the last big update, 3.0 in 2017. It was awful, but it was undoubtedly a big step forward for the game. Everything since has been lipstick on a pig.
Why is his head upside down? That is a long-time ED streamer trying SC for the first time.In 6.5 hours, I think he flew twice. He fell through the floor by the elevator. He got a 30K. He gave up waiting for the bartender to respond. Objects fell through the floor.
How the stream ended: ( twitch clip )
Not arguing here. Only stating there is already a trend to make customers pay for what should be "getting paid" if we take the 'test the build' thing serious. But not for thousands of dollars, except for a select few. And as i recall, the top most backer is now one of the saltiest people about ED.
Also, the combined alpha/beta period was about 1 year wasn't it? 1.5 years?
Same herePyro system. And hopefully high risk / high reward pvp gameplay.
