Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

SC backers pop into the thread all the time to say "I'm having fun" and think it is substantive. It's not relevant. Carlos Matos had a tad enjoyment with Bitconnect.
And when you ask them for a video of their "fun gameplay experience" they never answer the call.

OFF-TOPIC tho so keep it to yourself mkay?

One sentence post?! Guys, MTBFritz's account got hacked!

I feel any complaints about the discussions in this thread are a bit inappropriate and premature.

It's early days, these threads are in constant iteration, and this is perfectly normal for alpha thread development.

When the tier 2 posting pipelines are ready then you'll see an exponential increase in quality posting.

Complaining now that the posts aren't of the highest quality just shows impatience and entitlement, and one should manage their expectations better.

The Best Damn Thread Discussion Ever has never been made before, but there is a vision to achieve it.

Right, so literally saying "I had a tad enjoyment" as Pug did is so outrageously "painting over the flaws" that it makes sense to openly be "suspicious" about it and claim he "hasn't earned our trust"?

Come on man, that stuff is just clownish.

He’s also been indulging in some 'you lot shut up and/or enjoy the game too' though. And some general factual fuzziness. Those are games we get to join in on ;)
You are wrestling with Blobers-esque cartoon villains in your mind

My biggest disappointment with modern Internet discourse is that there is a significant amount of cynicism, with people assuming the worst. Just because a company or developer has not adhered to a single date, roadmap item, milestone, release date, game play mode, or even how many games that company may or may not be developing does not mean that developer lied, as opposed to the fact that it's just what you say when you want more money to "develop" something than you currently have.

We did, after all, say we would treat you like any other publisher.

Ah, the same old tired defenses that have been brought out over the last decade.

Maybe we are the cult after all?? Has anyone ever said or thought that?

I should point out that any company deserves to be criticized if they promise systems or features they end up cutting. Doesn't matter who they are or how much it cost. Saying "well I had fun, everyone else should just accept that" is great, but you can have fun with something and still criticize it, converse with others about its flaws, and point out where it actually excels at what it's doing without getting into dreamcrafting territory. Which is why Mole is beloved here and trusted with his opinions.

I guess why people here are skeptical of the "funhavers" of SC is that ultimately, the point of SC is to pledge. It's to get your friends pledging. Its become a kind of MLM, a gamer's version of Herbalife. Time and time again we've seen people propping up the game to keep their "investment" safe, or trying to get others in either directly through RSI or through the gray market.

"All you need is a starter package!!" these folks say, but suddenly it's "Well, mining is super fun and if you buy x and y and really, it's only a few hundred bucks and your in-game earning potential skyrockets!" and it has happened over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

That's why we are skeptical. If you took that away from SC and if it was just a normal $60 game with some microtransactions, this wouldn't even be an issue. But CIG/RSI structured their "pledge" store specifically to do this (thanks Turbulent!) and here we are.

I'm just a dude who appreciates every single post on its own merrit without swearing eternal allegiance to a specific tribe of nerds. I know, it is very hard to grasp for someone who spends real-life money to get entrance to a safe space just to crap talk people who spend real-life money on fake space ships in a dumb game you've been hating on for years.

It's okay. Really. :)
I don't "hate" anybody or anything; I much prefer to criticise. Hating is exhausting business, it just gets the blood boiling, and emotions tend to cloud one's judgement, anyway. If somebody enjoys something I abhor, hey, no skin off my nose. Doesn't mean I have to agree or to stay quiet. Same deal the other way around, of course. Feel free to blast me for liking this or that. ;)

I usually just wait a day or so for all the self congratulating at having defeated and seen off another blatant Star Citizen defender to die down a bit. Once the thread re-runs all the usual 'But it's never being released' tropes that never really get old, mixed with some truly wacky fixations with Bitconnect...whatever that is...it'll return to normal service. I'll post some pictures of cows, Fritz will post another dead sea scroll or 2, Agony will repost some more relevant Spectrum threads whilst the rest still occasionally lament the departure of Mr Novak ;)

We have sunk all our time into our hate, theorycrafted too long about Chris's toupee. It's is too late for us. There will be no dynamic meshing for our fleet of doom...

And besides, we'll all play it in the end anyway ;)

"I like a computer game a bit."
"You haven't earned our trust so I don't think you are speaking the truth."

Do you have any clue how that sounds to someone not invested emotionally in this crapshow?

And if someone said exactly that i would have no problem with it. I have no problem with people who simply say they enjoy Star Citizen.

You're trying to create a narrative here that doesn't exist. Have you considered applying for a job at CIG? :D

I dont know "thousands of pages" sounds better to me than "thousands of dollars" AMIRITE hahaha :D:D:D

and your

explains why that is :D

But same as in school you gotta go agaaaaaiiin from the start and enduldge the slow kids because its your job or you think its the right thing to do. Doing the right thing is actually harder than just turning your back. Some people here actuially are/were teachers but you dont need to be one to remember the past and have rational faculties.

I guess this thread has been reduced to the same thing that Star Citizen is.....a circus providing free entertainment and laughs. It helps to pass the time....and it helps to get over the disappointment that Star Citizen is to many. But if you dont like it.....

You start out so well and then you obliterate your own saying with the rest of what you post.....cheers dude, good job 😂 (y)

Aint that the truth....

What are you talking about? Its not like you increased your post count or anything. You are doing this for quite some time already but because you "cannot hold a thought" you have to split your posts all the way or maybe your have a weird hand twitch which results in intermittent posts? :D I post maybe once a day and I admit my posts can be massive....if you combined all your posts into one you would dwarf me.....every day of the week :) Get help!

@Sanya V. Juutilainen
Dont think I didnt see that upvote....I m going to be cross with you

:oops::oops::oops:

...I m going to start a list, You wanne get on my list? DO YOU????

I think hes a nice guy so I ve come to the conclusion that his "farm" is really self.isolation on behalf of the rest of humanity and to prevent his cows from hurting innocents. While other people would use dogs he has his cats (they look positively feral) and speaks in "code" to name the other protectors sharing his fate ^^

Awwww so we wont see you anymore? Shame :(

scribbles down notes and puts it into his "how to get upvotes easily" folder

....continue neutral face

Even tho most make an appearance claiming the same goals or motivations only to degenrate quickly into sndie, snark and personal attacks all the while defending Star Citizen.

Also Agony has his first "follower" cheers buddy, you throwing a party? :)

Heh, yeah, i suppose the main difference between us is that you use multi-quote while i like to keep replies separate. Pluses and minuses to both approaches.
