Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

And for the rare that have an abnormal addiction, having an abnormal addiction to SC is nothing different to having an abnormal addiction to GTA5, ED, Genshin Impact, W40K, postage stamp, etc

Incorrect...

Somebody bought some Idrises...

100% agree. Between my wife and I, I've spent about $600 on this game. I'm to the point where I'll never give CIG another dime, but I'm still an idiot.

Don't be like me, stick with the starter ships.

No regrets because, without following the project as closely as I have, I wouldn't have such good examples of abysmal project management, pee-poor communication, and dimwitted web-store management. I probably wouldn't be as far along in my career as I am. I'm fairly certain that I can attribute about $10k of my salary to things I learned by watching CIG sprint headfirst into predictable walls.

But, if I had known CIG would miss their stated delivery dates by more than 7 years, I would've waited until they had good traction with an open beta.

Elsewhere, the concerns keep on coming...

I guess scheme is the better word. But the insurance thing is ridiculous, people spending tons more on the same ship just for an LTI token. Buying random $40 space scooters in an alpha video game just to get LTI tokens. Like bruh- we don’t even know if that will make it into the game, if it does, when it does because the usefulness is contingent upon release, and what the process will entail. People will be fricking outraged if you can lose a ship for good that you bought with really money in 10 years when the game is out. They are pretty nebulous about anything that isn’t directly coming in the next patch.
I say this as someone who has spent concierge dummy club money. I do want the game to succeed and have the disposable income, but the insurance crap is fricking stupid. I changed my mind, I am sticking with scam!

Mike stream seems sponsored indeed. I wonder if this is just EVE promoting through SC´s and other streamers or if it is a reciprocal promotion deal with EVE ones doing SC too?
Looks like there's around half a dozen sponsored streams in the eve category, doesn't seem to be any obvious link though, Mike looks like the only SC streamer I can see.

Maybe there's more lined up though.

Eh, on the other hand the Vampire Coast is one of my fav factions in WH:TW2. You know, zombie pirates. Capitan Armando Salasar style (don't forget the lithp). Who, it just dawned on me, is acted by Javier Bardem - outstanding actor. So the unwilling swimmers are probably no loss at all.

Guys regretting buying stuff ! Never happened outside of SC !!!

The distinction is you listed games that:

  • Have provided the purchased product
  • Don't provide such an easy route to spending $25K...

The more you try and normalise SC's monetization, the more obvious it is that it's abnormal. In a bad way ;)

Try at least dogfight and mining and come back saying there is nothing.
Eh, engineering ruined dogfighting. It basically turned to turrets in space. And mining - yeah subsurface mining, oh wait..., lol, you mean SC? Only the blind man can believe the turd that is served to him is a steak. What's with all the ships that were sold and never delivered?

SC have provided to me a purchased product. I gave CIG 45€ and I played at least 200 hours on it. I am consuming each week a purchased product the same way I can with ED.

Explain me the exact difference if I play ED this night instead of SC ? There is something magic that 1 hour played in SC is abnormal but normal in ED ?

"easy route to spending $25K" You mean 2 or 3 org guys buying stuff among millions accounts ? You want to talk also how it's abnormal to pay $25K for a SuperBowl ticket ?

You can try to make it seem like the SC model is abnormal, it's not.

Hey guys, if you ever used a flight sim and always wondered what chaff and flares look like - don't look any further. LA has whole rack of countermeasures in his rear and they fire simultaneously. Just stand back for a moment, because of the crappy smell.
