State of the Game

Priscilla! One of my fave films ever... and who'd have thought Guy Pearce would be so good?!? 👍
I used to have long haircut in my early 20s - I remember once some gal pals on a "home preparty" at their place have put on a tone of makeup on me and dared me to wear a dress to the club.
I suppose I was drunk enough to take up his challenge.
Or I just "took the bait" of "you won't do it".
It was not easy to find something I could fit in, I am sure I must have looked hot anyway :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Unfortunately I have no photos of this evening - these were times when phones were fitted to... make a phone calls and not much more (shocking!).

I only found a photo of my glorious ;) hair from this time.

I remember that it was not that hard to pose as a "drag queen", as it's based on exaggerated, stereotypical mannerism.
Well, it was fun, but no something I felt eager to repeat.
Just one of diverse episodes in my youth with purpose of overcoming my own timidity(?) when exposed to public attention.
I did some even dumber things occasionally... ok, frequently, just to lose any dependency between on "how am I seen" and my confidence and "laid back" level.
It was hard and long work of ruining your own image to reach the point, where you feel stable and strong irrelevantly to the fact how you are being received by "spectators".

I have gone out clubbing in dresses, loads of times... never for a dare or a bet, but because I looked good in it (my youth as a clubkid was excellent)

and because in ahem proper clubbing, anything goes!
Well, this was NOT a "rainbow" themed club ;) I went to a big, mainstream club, how could I treat this as a challenge otherwise?

And... it was over 20 years ago. In Poland. It was NOT piece of cake and there was... mixed feedback ;)

with the exception obviously of playing with a mate/mates, is there any more to be gained from playing in open? Genuine question - I gen play in solo but keep thinking I ought to have a dabble round in open, though I'm not sure what I really hope to gain from it... what's everyone's experience?
I've always loved Open Powerplay, mainly because meeting a rival player is palm sweatingly intense compared to a toothless NPC who I just laugh at.

But I won't say any more, because we all know what will happen :D

Answering this question is a job for a holistic detective.

PS. This series is absurdly hilarious.
It's been canned because a producer got feely with someone. I hate the politics of this crap. Remember when you could get arrested for something and still have a job? It would be nice if they kept good shows running. That guy could have eaten babies and worn their flesh, idc as long as we get our shows hahahahahahaha

Oh I didn't know about this. I just assumed it was too "niche".
What happened, whose toe did he step on?

To be gained? No. But if you're lucky, once a new moon you will randomly encounter someone else doing their thing. It's pretty cool when it happens, and it felt amazeballs when it happened to me at an Odyssey settlement that we later carpet-bombed together. You can also enjoy getting ganked in Deciat, or at whatever station the current CG is at. But Deciat is a lot more reliable as CGs are full of boring people, so being paired with hostiles is a lot more unlikely.

99.99% of the time, it's like solo. That little .01% is fun when it happens. If you're unlucky and for some reason unable to high-wake, it may turn into a rebuy screen, but ultimately, what else are those credits good for anyhow? I'm at the point where I don't really care much about any progress bar, so whatever.

Honestly they should have made it open only but separate pvp and pve servers like a lot of other games. That would have stopped a lot of open only threads and we would have had a bunch of 'everyone's hiding in pve waaaaahh' threads instead which may have been fun, who knows?

yeah, not short on credits and nice engineered ships so I should go out and give it a whirl. Guess it just gets to be habit to play in solo. Also tricky as in VR I can't touch type well enough to message players! And well outside the bubble at the moment just mooching so I might head back over and have a gander
