Downwards
This was taken as a memento of my favourite excursion to date. After spending all of my time in the bubble, working towards leaving it, I set off for Sag A. Then having seen the galaxy all around me, I wondered what it would look like from it's very edge, so I headed downwards, just as far as I could get. To see everywhere I could ever be, more places than I could ever know, in a single plane above me was stunning, and sort of sad in a way I can't really put into words. I would recommend the trip to anyone. Anyway, with a free-floating camera available, I thought I'd take a portrait image, as the scene sort of reminded me of the cover art of vintage sci-fi paperbacks. I used to play Frontier back in the day, and it still kinda blows my mind that the game looks every bit as evocative now as I used to dream of thirty years ago.
