How can I only be finding out about this yesterday? I didn't know you could display a system like this.

Ok, open the System Map, Scroll Zoom down onto a planet, Scroll Zoom out. Right click hold and move mouse lerft/right. Or use (for me) W, A,S,D keys.

Doesn't work for me...

Make sure your mouse scroll wheel zoom into and out of a planet. Don't use the Zoom in on planet Icon on the right hand side of your screen. (I tried the Zoom Icon for testing, and it didn't work either).
