Flying in interstellar space might give one a feeling of utter isolation. But that's nothing. After all, you are surrounded with hundreds if not thousands of visible stars all around. For true isolation try going as far up or down from the galactic plane and staring at the intergalactic abyss. Here I'm a bit over 1400 ly "down" from the Heart Nebula. Let's look "up", and then let's look "down"...
