Stellar Unknown Expedition

Trip To 'The Peak' - Saturday 23rd November 3305 (Led by PhillP)

Starting System - Systae Free RD-T e3-5
Time & Date: 20.00 IGT Saturday 23rd November 3305

You will need:

There And Back Again -
66.2 LY minimum Jump Range + 2 Basic & 4 Premium FSD Injections (advised to gather materials before starting)

1 Way Trip Only - 58.61 LY minimum Jump Range + 1 Basic & 1 Premium FSD Injections (advised to gather materials before starting)
The One Way Trip involves an extra NS jump to get the range needed hence 1 less Premium Injection.
-----------------------------------------------
Star 1 - Systae Free RD-T e3-5
This is our starting point. It is 4443.67 LY from Explorer’s Anchorage and can be reached with regular jumps or neutrons.
The main star is a B so top up with fuel while you can.

Star 2 - Systae Free RD-T e3-17 - (37ly)
The main star is a neutron which will be used to jump to Star 3.
It’s also a green system but watch your fuel, you may not be able to spend much time

Star 3 - Systae Free EG-Y g3 – (183.60ly)

The main star is a black hole so be careful when entering the system. There is a neutron star 107,429 ls out which will be used to jump to Star 2 on the way back. It’s a bit of a trek but the only way.
You may have the range to get to Star 4, otherwise a Basic FSD Injection should be plenty.

Star 4 - Systae Free FG-Y g12 – (72.74ly)

The main star is a black hole. There is a NS 198,569 ls from the black hole so it’s a last resort only, also the star you use for the Suicide Option one way trip.
A Premium FSD Injection is needed to reach Star 5 if not using the NS.

Star 5 - Systae Free FG-Y g2 – (132.21ly)

Another black hole. Not much of interest, just the last stepping stone.
A Premium FSD injection is needed to reach Star 6, The Peak.

Star 6 - Systae Free AA-A h1 – The Peak – (117.21ly)
The main star is a black hole and there are 2 more black holes. There are also 3 water worlds, an earthlike and a ringed icy.
Sadly there are no landable planets but the view is what we are here for. Look down towards the plane to see the galaxy as a massive glowing disc beneath you and gaze in wonder as you get some screenshots to treasure forever.

You will be low on fuel so use the M star here before returning.

I just arrived at WP 14 a little while ago, I didn't check to see how many jumps it was to Sag A* but I'm guessing I can cover it in the next day or two.

Its not too bad the last stretch although takes ages to plot anywhere :)
I went to XA first to drop off data...just in case.

Depending on how you're feeling, The Peak is Saturday but 4KLY beyond Sag A, mass jump is Sunday as usual in Sag A so aim for whichever is doable.

Safe travels

I finished a couple of hours ago, I too hit up XA to sell off my exploration data before messing around with Sag A*. Besides wanting to be safe I was actually more excited about getting to dock at a station in a populated system than seeing Sag A* again. This was my third trip there and the last one was only a couple months before Stellar Unknown started. It was a load off my mind to get that data sold, I've been worrying about having an accident and losing all my data. I actually didn't even land at the last basecamp, I flew to the planets, got some nice pictures and fired my probes but I was so close to the finish that I didn't want to risk even just a planetary landing.

I only made it to a couple of meetups after joining half-way through the expedition, and RL things have gotten in the way. So I quickly hit XA to sell data and got back to the bubble already. I regret that I didn't get to do more with this expedition but I'm sure I'll see most folks again in future journeys.
