Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Victories in HR 1403, HIPs 11111, 39186 and 39468, and Col 285 Sectors AU-F b12-1 and YY-F b12-6! Those helping with Alerts will need to invest carefully now that we are relatively late in the cycle.

Eviction overview:
  • Njana is doing quite well and can be considered at no risk of shortfall.
  • I will complete HIP 30158 this evening; extra activity is welcome, although I prefer that such goes to Njana first.
  • Chibis and HIP 20056 are unknown, although they will not be losing much in terms of strength and can be completed easily in any cycle when needed.
  • Tagin is of high strategic value and I would love to know from @Grimscrub how the inventory is looking!

Samples for System HIP 21386 are collected; now going to Cephei Sector AF-A c22

Very nice choices; at that rate of attacker-removal, I imagine you will begin to see some weeks where you are able to get M. Oya below five Alerts placed!

Anyone planning on clearing 65 Kappa Tauri or are we going to have to repel an invasion where the stations are 70,000Ls from the star?

It looks very much unlikely to clear as an Alert; I have it in 20th place projecting 1793%. That said, I think its far-away ports make it more difficult for most Alert activity than for port defence activity as an Invasion, especially given that it has a planetary option.

Sorry, had dropped off around midnight - atm, 1,551 samples gathered, working on the latter half now. Between that and the 11% from other efforts, should be fine.

Maybe not the place, but with your permission I want to ask something:

If I kill 5-10 scouts and 1-2 cyclops after fighting for a while in the system where the war continues (for example, low ax cz), will it contribute positively to human progress in the system? (But if I leave without completing the cz and finishing the tasks in the cz...)

I wouldn't want to do that if I was going to contribute negatively to progress. I'm asking for be sure.

If there's a way to make the progress bar go backwards no-one has reported finding it, so the worst you can possibly do is "no effect".

In this case the kills should contribute something to the progress bar even if you don't complete the CZ so it'll be better than that.

Thank you! I was considering a little target manipulation at M. Taranis if time allows; any assistance you may need at Tagin comes first, although it is well if that is not the case.

You are most welcome to place questions here! Destroying any Thargoids should help progress an Alert, Invasion or Control system, and if your Conflict zone reached the Interceptor stage then the extra bond reward should also come with a progress contribution. Leaving a Conflict zone should not be harmful in any way, and indeed there is no known way to sabotage progress already made; for example, failing a mission may earn faction disapproval, but only completed missions should have any progress effect.

Ended up with some company for the final stretch - 2764 samples for tagin secured to be safe, buy order closed, moving to deliver.

- delivery finished at 16:40 UTC, looks good. Will try to check back before the end of week and see how much excess there was.

Victories in 69 Upsilon Tauri, Tagin and Cephei Sector AV-Y b0! Many, many thanks to @Grimscrub et alia, mystery benefactors included, for sparing Commanders from the Kuruma supercruise tour next week!

Not much longer after discussing 65 Kappa Tauri, it surged up through several places to upset the Alert order a bit! More so than usual, Commanders seeking to help with any Alerts may be best-advised to keep to the top one or two. Thank you also to those who gave HIP 30158 an extra point today; INIV will be clearing the remainder this evening, and that 2% point saves us one full cargo hold which can be spent on a bit more clean-up elsewhere!

Everything for HIP 30158 is stored and awaiting delivery, although we have a bit more time this evening, so we decided to meddle with the M. Leigong targeting a bit. Unfortunately this will meddle also with a possible opportunity to observe the range from which the Thargoid Council may strike inhabited systems ahead of empty systems, but it will help at least to gather some of the missing strength information.

First will be Arietis Sectors ZU-P b5-4, ZU-P b5-2 and VO-R b4-0, although those may not be the only ones!

Victories in HIPs 21386 and 30158, Cephei Sectors AV-Y b6 and AF-A c22, 65 Kappa Tauri and Arietis Sectors VO-R b4-0, VO-R b4-2, VO-R b4-3, ZU-P b5-2 and ZU-P b5-4; so far that is sixty-one complete systems versus only thirty-three attacks, with still one day remaining!

With its port Conflict zones, I am quite curious about the ratio of Commanders who were treating the swift 65 Kappa Tauri completion as an Invasion system versus an Alert system.

It may be a sample size of one, but I've been there most of the week doing what I would have been doing in an invasion system, namely trying to kill enough thargoids to reach Elite combat rank (now deadly 90%, I was getting worried the invasion drought would hamper my progress!)

using Inara, for most of the week there were only a small number of commanders in the system and they all looked to be fighting rather than performing rescues / delivering supplies, there was a massive jump in activity yesterday but most of the 'Commanders in the fight' on the system conflict page only have kills - so perhaps evidence that ratio is quite high?

I'm trying to reach Elite just on AX combat. so nearly there, opportunities like 65 Kappa tauri are hard to pass up on....
