Take it we have seem the medical and other megaships smashed up by the goids now, doing ok for a non-aggresive race[citation needed]
The initial scan was fine. As the Thargoid scanned the wreckage, the player ship simply got too close. The Tharglet swarm was released as warning, but the player continued to drift too close. The Thargoid called red alert, but did NOT attack. Because the player did not immediately close in again, it cancelled red alert as clearly shown in the video at 1:12. Because the player then decided to close back in again, the Thargoid went to red alert again and as the player was STILL within range, it opened fire.
I think sometimes people forget just how long the big 3 ships are - the nose of the player's ship would have been VERY close to the 'goid.
100% the player's fault.
Prove it or it didn't happen You're still only seeing the aftermath of SOMETHING destroying them.

If you decide to continue along this path, you too can purge us of the human menace! Right On, Commander!I'm going to shoot whoever shoots 1st!
Innocent till proven guilty. We should be using this as a guide to ALL things. Unfortunately Humans tend to just want to take the easy option, without considering the evidence.
* No evidence of Thargoid weaponry destroying those ships
* No clear evidence of KOS by Thargoids.
Until those two things are confirmed, by video evidence, then I will presume Thargoids to be dangerous, but not aggressive.

Often times, proof in a court doesn't even reach the standards you require. I do believe without a shadow of a doubt that Thargoids are responsible for the corrosive damage to vessels we have observed.
But I stand with you that they are currently dangerous, not aggressive. Make no mistake, we agree on that. The only difference is that I believe they neutralized those human vessels.
Also, as much as we all love to call the feds liars, they could be telling the truth about their first "unprovoked" scrap with the aliens. No evidence either way.
As soon as I see proof... I will absolutely change from Curious Science to Destructive Science
Feds telling the truth?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I reckon some of our best men have sacrificed themselves, choosing to take to the escape pods knowing full well they would be tractored up into the alien vessel... How exciting!

I have decided that, until evidence is supplied to confirm they are aggressive and an enemy, that I shall refrain from engaging Thargoid ships. I don't believe they are the enemy and I firmly believe we are still waiting to find out who the green corrosive sneezing aliens are - as THEY seem to be the aggressors. We've yet to actually witness a Thargoid destroying anything unprovoked.
Peace to our alien buggy friends.
