The 5 min carrier jump cooldown is killing me. Poll: Need to change to 1min? Removed?

Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

FCs were never meant supplant normal ships for everyday travel.

Bring back the 1 hour cooldown because people just don't seem to get it.
I get it. I don't use like normal ship by the way.

Funny that this has backfired a bit on explorer types.
Yeah, Funny... unless you're an explorer type that would liked to have had a smaller 'mothership' to carry perhaps only one or two craft and a plethora of landing/ground/atmo vehicles, ones who would prefer not to have the necessity of hundreds of permanent features clogging up specific systems, ones who would have liked to have a larger vessel that didnt cost millions of credits per week just for the sake of it, ones that would have been happy to not have to go grind mining to get a an overprced under spec'd eyesore that treats the owner just the same as any other visiting ne'er do well... oooh! and refuelling is such fun too.

yeah funny, but, it works for some, so who cares about the malcontent pesants that wanted something far less and easier to administer so their game could be enhanced the way they want.

Well, i have had dreams much like every other player. Just the way things work around here it seems. I'm not one for crying about things though LIKE WHERE IS MUH HUMAN KILLING BANANA MOTHERSHIP!!?.
The FD cake is constantly assault since times began from all sides and sometimes things break the game for many.
This may be one of these times where things seem to have been pushed too much from original purposes..
What is more important, a game that works or one that causes errors just because they want a better fsd?
I would like fd to roll back these things, not likely, but i will ask politely.
I do not expect a reply but if they say fixed or not the problem, then i will digress.
I would further add that if you grinded for your fc, you have my sympathies.

If you can't wait 5 minutes for something, get some help, please. Life is full of situations where you have to wait. Not being able wait is basically a disaster waiting to happen. Pun intended.

But this isn't life..this is a video game... That was paid for, and a ship that was earned through in-game "work". And now when he wants to move this thing he has paid for in two different ways he is told "wait".

Why?

"Because I say so"

If he wants to move his bloody ship for God's sake let him do it when he wants, he isn't asking anything unreasonable. I'm not a fan of FCs personally but the catches with this whole thing are just bloody ridiculous

Read around and there are still a few voices heard here who are unhappy about anything FC related that involves upkeep, fuel useage, obtaining fuel, waiting to jump, crew faces...

I guess if everything could happen, immediately, for no cost, zero fuel useage and the crew were all page 3 girls (or guys, or otherwise) then someone would still find something not to their satisfaction...
Of course. Anyone who did things "the hard way" back then. People who want exploration to be something that takes some time an effort.

Anyone who can't afford a fleet carrier because they missed out on the diamond rush.

How about a jump range of 10000 ly but a cooldown of 24 hours, and a warmup of one hour, the first 30 minutes being before lockdown.

The whole reason for the cooldown and warmup time is to allow players currently docked (or in the vincinity) time to react and dock or undock before they are stranded or whisked away respectively.

If the carrier is jumping more or less instantly, there will be no warning.

But the cooldown is not necessary, just have a 1 hour warmup time instead and a 1000 ly jump range. That way they would match the smaller ships. in speed over long distances. 22 hours to Colonia is not that bad.

So you think we should pay for fuel and upkeep instead of FD paying us for moving their FC ?

Nah, I've not played since midway through Beta 3.3, I had hoped that the introduction of the delayed Fleet Carriers would re-ignite my enthusiasm for the game but alas the damp squib provided merely supports my decision to spend quality enjoyment time in other directions,
Don't get me wrong though, I did enjoy the 2000 hours I had in the game earlier, it's just that the enjoyment from the way I was doing things was removed, and nothing introduced so far has engaged me to come back... perhaps one day!

Oh yeah, Grinded? never have and never would, if I don't like it I don't do it!

That is the problem - people want to use them like a big ship - but they were intended to be a mobile mini-station - so shifting them would require a much more complicated system than for ships. Personally, I think it is too fast at the moment but I don't see them undoing their cave-in to the beta moaners.

I'm using mine exactly how I think they were intended to be used, it jumps every few days as I clear the surrounding area of features and systems I have marked for checking. I usually have around 100m of exploration data by the time I return to my FC, that gets passed through UC, I schedule jump for next waypoint, undock and start exploring again. It really would make no difference at all if the cooldown time was an hour or even two, and the spool up time the same, it would still be jumping at exactly the same rate it is now.
