Ok, so I'm at my ususal place, and the other run times don't look like I'm missing anything magical, but
WAIT A SECOND
20 MINUTES bonus in unlimited?
that's 1200 seconds. Deduct 90 seconds for the standard stuff - that means 1100 seconds for Let's Cook???? That's 1250% heat (or thereabouts)???????? Or something like 1000% in the Quattro?

I've left every submission in for comparison so far, but as we draw towards the end of the week I'll delete duplicate CMDRs to give a clearer view.

Some very good runs so far with a great couple by Shaye Blackwood to show the way in Unlimited Class, closely followed by a frankly terrifying run by Sulu (Fish172). In Regulation it seems to be all routing with a smattering of bonuses too with Edelgard von Rhein taking an early lead, followed by Martin Jameson (Arrowroot66) and Epaphus.

Looks at Sulu's run time, looks at own run time. Looks at Sulu's bonus ... begrudgingly rethinks tactics.

Just reviewing a few entries this morning and on one video as a CMDR approaches Walter Vision and gets docking access the ATC says what sounds like "Collision authorised, proceed to landing pad 04"

I know it's actually 'Permission', but now I've misheard it I hear it all the time and I think it's more fitting of our landing pad approaches in the races :ROFLMAO:

This reminds me of a easily mishearable message from one of the automated docking systems you find at the engineers' sites...
The automatic voice says: "Automatic docking protocol activated." or something along that line. At some places, "docking" sounds more like a word beginning with a letter that comes two spots later in the alphabet... 🤔 :sneaky:

sigh - since it's become blindingly obvious that heat and not speed will win unlimited I changed tactics and tried cooking my iCourier with silent running before docking at the end. It did not go entirely according to plan.

In fact, even if I'd landed it would not have beaten my non-cooked DBX time so it seems I either need to build myself a flying supernova or leave unlimited for those pepared to do so. Hmmm, looks at regulation

UPDATE!

The race is well and truly beginning to heat up in Regulation with the top three spots all changing hands in the last 24hrs as the brave pants are pulled on. Looks like you don't get to be a crime lord without taking risks!

Epaphus slides into the top spot with the fastest circuit time so far, additionally a bit of panel beating and a good cooking session reduced his time further.
Sulu sits smoking in second place, not too far behind after a good run and a customary firm middle finger to danger with no shields, no hull left, and a very charred Cobra to show for it.
Edelgard von Rhein slips into third with an improved run, just under 40 seconds faster than the previous effort.

In Unlimited, two new entries from Edelgard von Rhein and Tobias von Brandt D.B.A. 'Sol Goodman' :ROFLMAO: sit close to Alec Turner behind the almost catastrophically incandescent Sulu and Shaye Blackwood.

Heat and speed I think, looking at the entries so far. Now Sulu's ship of choice is out in the open too, it might be a fairly quick build to cobble something similar together. My main concern is that I can see where he lost a fair chunk of time in Unlimited, and so can he, but it means I'm going to have to probably sit through another terrifying submission from him... 🔥 ;)
