The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

I don't think so: it doesn't look like the DSSA threads are drowning out discussion here. That only happened once so far, during DW1.
Besides, once all (or most) of the DSSA carriers are deployed and in place, the section would become a ghost town.

You can track where the DSSA fleet carriers are on EDAstro's Interactive Galaxy Map, and you can track where all the carriers are (at the time of writing, 3,045!) on the dedicated maps here and here.
Any chance to add the sector names on the interactive map data ?

Entry 103 Wanderer's Rest finally made it on station. Changed the destination in my DSSA form, so it should show up in the tracker here shortly. No icy rings in my first choice. My new home, FLYAI PRE HR-V C2-1, has a few rings to choose from, nearby systems with neutrons and white dwarfs, and a moon with a 0.2D orbit (it moves at about 1km/s)

Happy flying!

A little PSA to Jolly Rogers and any approaching her planned deployment star, Ooctarbs NR-W E1-0. There are a couple of 'pincher' jumps approaching that area. My latest was a G and K and you jump in directly between the two that are just 0.1 AU apart. It was my third such jump-in in this general area. I know FD supposedly 'fixed' this issue last fall, but it still happens. My AFMUs had a good workout this morning. This one you literally ducked your head as the jump-in appeared on the screen. Anyone have some spare iced tea?

I am inspired by the first travelers of the Elite. Therefore, after an expedition to the Colony and the center of the galaxy, I decided to try my hand at a distant frontier. My ship has a jump of ~30 ly (I did not return to the Bubble and set it up with engineers) And I'm glad that fleet carriers and initiatives such as DSSA appeared at this time. I hope I will be useful if I am nearby. о7 guys and thanks for your community. It reopens the game!

Carrier Deployment complete. DSSA Ironside has reached it's destination, looking forward to at least two years of service in the DSSA network.

CARRIER NAME: DSSA Ironside M71-H5B
OWNER NAME: Eisen
SYSTEM: PLAA AEC RY-B B41-1
PLANET: 2b (Historical: Location of Dynasty Expedition Hawkings Gap Delta Site)
GALACTIC REGION: HAWKINGS GAP
DISTANCE TO SOL: 10,881.09 LY

CARRIER-DATA:
CARRIER TYPE:
VICTORY CLASS FLEET CARRIER
COMMISSIONED: 12.06.3006 at ALCOR
FUELED UP: 12.06.3006 at INKTASA
DEPARTED: 12.06.3006 from SOSONG
ARRIVED: 14.06.3006 at PLAA AEC RY-B B41-1

CARRIER SERVICES:
Refuel, Repair, Armoury, Shipyard, Outfitting, Universal Cartographics
Modules in storage: Analytical Devices, Cargo Racks, Fuel Management, Mining tools, Limpet Controllers, Mining Utilities

This system has historical relevance to the carrier-owner. I was among those members of the shady Children of Raxxla, who went out on the traces of the Dynasty-Expedition and helped to find the derelict abandoned surface-bases in the Hawkings-Gap region als well als in the Scutum-Sagittarii Conflux. To commemorate this successful mission, I dedicated my own carrier to this place. May it be a safe haven for deep space explorers and tourist-visitors, who come to listen to the ancient recordings at the abandoned base.
Furthermore the abandoned base can be used to collect random tech-items, similar to the famous "Davs Hope" abandoned base near the bubble. In system there is a Gas Giant with an icy ring that boasts two Tritium-Hotspots.

Just an FYI to my fellow service FC's in the black. It looks like EDAstro got the FC carrier location issue ironed out. Our locations are now showing up. Yours truly in the lower center section of The Conduit. Kinda cool to see it actually.

If that's you in the Conduit on the DSSA Wanderer's rest, I'll be docking there sometime tonight! I'm using the DSSA carriers as waypoints! o7

Are you submitting data to EDDN? That's been the biggest problem. Half the carriers out there aren't getting events sent through EDDN. My suspicion has been that a lot of people are using EDMC to send to Inara and/or EDSM, but not EDDN. And its the latter that helps websites that aren't Inara or EDSM. ;) :D

Oh wait, are you talking about the map you linked, or the DSSA markers on the interactive map? The former is driven by EDDN. The latter is entirely pulled from the tracker spreadsheet. I made some improvements to the location estimation for systems that don't exist in the EDSM data (yet), so that helps too. ;)

Question: I'm on a great galactic expedition with my carrier, Odyssey F34-Q9B, and I'll donate her to the DSSA afterwards. Is there a plan for Cmdrs to keep an alt-Cmdr at each carrier to help keep DSSA carriers stocked with Tritium that passing exploration carriers can purchase? This will help fuel other carriers as well as paying for DSSA carrier upkeep? Thanks all :D

Great initiative - thanks to all for setting this up and contributing.

Looking forward to seeing my first FC when one arrives in Formorian Frontier sector

So a quick question from a junior explorer out on his first real expedition into the deep Black.

What is the easiest and quickest way to locate the nearest DSSA carrier - is there any other methods than just going manually through the Google Docs table and assessing which one would be the nearest?

Currently, I am somewhere in the middle of Sanguineous Rim, so I am guesstimating that either one i Kepler's Crest or Achilles Altar would be the closest.

It would be great if the EDSM map sometime in the future would show DSSA carriers, since they are there for minimum a year.

Great initiative, can't wait to see and dock with my first fleet carrier even though I am thousands of lightyears from the Bubble!

Looking for a link to connect to Black Sails expedition, FC Jolly Roger. Looking for an ETA to your planned deployment star. Not sure if I should stick around this general area or move on down the Galaxy. Darn pretty star you picked. All rings in the system are metallic or rocky however. Not sure if that matters if you are trying to collect tritium.

The map is beginning to show them, but we're only adding them as and when they've actually reached their designated systems and go into DSSA service They're marked as 'Deep Space Outposts' for the time being but may get their own icon once Anthor gets around to adding it.

So far around 10 have been deployed and are now on the map.

Great thanks!

Will probably plot a course for the DSSA Aristarchos then, although it is a bit farther away than I hoped. Great to know, that you are out there!
