Just for feedback I had planned on keeping the DSSA Gene Roddenberry in place for 2 years for GMP, even though I understood that the commitment for DSSA was only one year. I'm still committed to the two year plan.
Thank you for your commitment!

Deep Space 27, and Deep Space 12 were ( and still are ) committed to a five year mission. Both have 4 years, 11 months of upkeep on them. ;-)
Coincidentally, I'd bet 4 years and some change is the "shelf life" remaining for Elite. We'll see.

Now THAT is commitment. I think you're probably right on the shelf life of this version of Elite. But you never know. I'm looking forward to another 4 years, Lord willing.

Since I'm already parsing it anyway, I might make a JSON copy of it available. Hopefully the data there will continue to remain valid, but of course there's always the possibility of the project changing maintainers and people losing their form links, etc. If I ever need to make manual overrides to it, those can be reflected in the JSON. Anyway, it's an idea.

OK, I threw this together. The JSON will be automatically updated:

https://edastro.com/json/DSSA-carriers.json

It includes the fields that I'm parsing out from the tracker spreadsheet, but also looking up the coordinates, and including a "last seen" field, which shows where the carrier was when it last had an EDDN docking event. Ideally that should always be the same system name as its designated deployment system, assuming the carrier is actually deployed. But the "last seen" field comes from the database, versus the other system name fields which come from the spreadsheet and could have typos. So it's there as an additional option.

And this tracking of the trackers showed me that there is exactly one tracker that is reliably and quickly updated when a DSSA carrier owner updates their registration form, and that is the one given by Quohen in the first post of this thread: https://bit.ly/dssanetwork
This is also the only tracker that has all the DSSA carriers, including all the ones in pre-planning state.
Yes that's the one I am using in my travels to all of the known DSSA carriers. While I like the idea of having a badge list, I'm more interested in visiting them all. Thanks for all your (and others') hard work in this endeavor, and to all the carrier owners as well.

When I deployed the DSSA Eleanor at the base of route 33 (CHO THUA NL-C B40-0) I did it entirely with the understanding that it’ll be there for 2+ years.
I suspect most (if not all) of the early sign-ups did the same.
Same here. I'd have to go back into the threads and see where we all got that two year thing from.

Likely having to do with the GMP POI. Dunno. Not really worth arguing with people over. ;-)

If I recall correctly the GMP POI was exactly the difference between the 1 year and 2 year commitments. I remember thinking, "Wait, I only signed up for one year, now I'm supposed to tie up my 5 billion asset for 2 years??"

In the end I rationalized that for all the trouble for the organizers and the effort to develop the trackers/POI's/etc, it was really a pretty small price for me to be responsible for one carrier for a couple of years.

I was being a ;)

It's remarkable that we're reaching the one year mark of the DSSA. I really appreciate everyone's commitment and all the third party work being done. It really is remarkable.

My namesake Cmdr had stuffed DSSA 133 full of all the ships I had interest in - fully engineered and outfitted - and have no plans to return to the Bubble....The spot I chose in Floalk seems - relatively speaking - underexplored - and I like the centrally located spot for explorers headed west of / from Colonia....

As I helped with the DW2 CG to complete the assembly and startup of Explorers Anchorage near Sgr A* - so too was I interested in the possibility of seeing DSSA added to the background / lore of the game as a 'fixed' bases / starports - and hope that it is the launching point for some truly interesting POI nearby / or the saving grace for a Cmdr of a damaged ship far out in the Black (did 8 kLy without a canopy to reach safety & repairs at Medusa's Rock personally - but that's a tale for another day)...

So while I may not have had the full 'cash reserves' in hand for 2 years when I deployed - I have 'net worth' between ships and a second Cmdr & FC - to also probably go 4+ years...An hour of pristine exploration / week likely covers my weekly FC upkeep (@ 24.3 million) - and I am of course grateful for any Cmdrs who sell their UC data to support DSSA FCs everywhere...

I cant see Elite being turned off. Now the development may go slower, but as long as there are enough sales to cover the server etc costs plus profit why would they turn it off?

I got a bit confused as my FC is listed #68 here whereas on Qohen's it was #102. Anyway, i deposited enough money into the carrier balance for it to be alive for more than 3 years. Considering the frequent visits with a lot of exploration data from other players, as well as mine from time to time, it will probably add up to 4+ years. That should be more than enough time for everyone to visit the DSSA Pilgrim's Harbor. And who knows, if there will actually be a change in attitude and content from Fdev i wouldn't mind to keep it in place even more than that.

Here's the current status of the carrier "Walk In The Shadows" located in "Plae Chreou HK-A d6" every useful services to explorer are suspended.

Big thanks to right ascension and leo's vision. Wasnt in critical condition like many others (Love my self-repair limpets) but it takes a ton of stress off of a faceplant knowing you all are here. Been trying to leave some explo data wherever i end up as thanks! :)

Thanks for the report!

I don't have access to update the tracker spreadsheet, personally, however I have manually marked this carrier as suspended on the EDAstro map.
