I eventually managed to register with Elite Games Russia, after some problems with receiving the confirmation email.

There's a useful guide to registering here if you want to give it another try. If you're successful then you can post your questions in the English Speaking Users thread :)

Quite similar to how I imagine Viper, but right now it looks as if someone tried to skim Achenar in it. :p

The only actual complaint is that I wouldn't make thrusters sticking out like that. Also, ventral/dorsal thrusters!

the thrusters will be tidied up along with the rest, they're copied over from the current viper - useful for placeholders... expect them to look like they're cut in, rather than sticking out:D

Hi I have a friend (not registered on here - I think) who wants to play FFE but does not have any of the files.
I have everything needed to play FFE3D but I can't upload them to him as the rar file is over 500MB ! So my friend wants to download all the files needed.

So could someone please summarise all the steps needed to download & install FFE3D from stratch. Please include links for all the files needed.

This is what I have so far :

The EliteClub : http://www.eliteclub.org.uk/

Then the JJFFE version (paste over the shareware version)
JJFFE : http://jaj22.org.uk/jjffe/

Then download the Russian Mod (unzip and paste over the JJFFE version)
Russian Mod FFE3D
1) http://dream.maxdsl.ru/files/FFED3D_1.0b.rar

2) http://dream.maxdsl.ru/files/ffed3d_patch_1.12b.rar

3) double-click on ffe3d.exe to play the game.

Is there anything I've missed ?

that was it - the panel file wasn't in the MODELS folder, it was just sat in the main directory - all sorted, cheers guys

and again Steve its a great addition to FFE

i cant believe how a 13 year old game has suddenly found a new lease of life

great stuff

Keep the Russian version separate.

[Folder1] Russian version + Patch

[Folder2] Shareware version + JJFFE + GLFFE

Yep, just tried the Russian Mod version on it's own,
It works without the Elite Club & JJFFE downloads.

Soooooo forget what I said above ! :eek:

Problem with Russian 3d Mod

I just d/l patch ffed3d_patch_1.12b, but when I go to play it, the icons are missing from the control panel. (Request launch, ship specs, etc). I can click on the control panel 'box' where they should be and it displays the proper information, but I don't have them memorized and have to keep clicking each one of them to get to what I want. This didn't happen in the previous version. Is this a known bug? Is there any way around it besides 'downgrading' to the previous version? TIA

Have you put the icon files in the texture folder in FFE3D?.

Yeah, this is a known bug which will hopefully be resolved in The Next Release.

The icons only appear when you run the game in certain resolutions. 1280x1024 definitely works - 'cos that's what I use - but there are others that are ok too. Just edit the ffewin.cfg file to change the fullscreen parameters.

I couldn't help but notice that there was a star field in your cockpit picture. I can't seem to activate it in my download, despite going into the settings and it saying it should be activated. Maybe I should try downloading it again. Certainty I will download your new cockpit too. Well done again!

Hi ALL !!! Great job,Great Community, at this momment I have no words to describe the feeling that FFE(d3d) "evolution" brings to me,Great Thanks to everybody from admins,moders,ect... involved in this project.I want to create torrent or rapidshare (link upload) for FFEd3d including the newest models + brilliant Steve`s recent work, in file .rar(ALL in ONE).I allready have this on HD and it`s working perfectly in near 7 days testing.(including the fact that it is still at beta version),In good will, that where is allmost 1 year after FFED3D release and there is no resent patch.
