Doooooom is in style these days, and everyone thinks their opinion is important enough to share.
And why wouldn't they be? Isn't that the whole point of a discussion forum? Or are you just waltzing into every thread to shout DOOOOM because you think your opinion is superior to everyone else's?

Not going to argue about this or that but I do find it odd how quite a few post in the EDO forum when the topic isn't about EDO (except to mention they think EDO isn't good after not actually playing it). Just an observation, rather than trying to add anything useful (acknowledge this post isn't useful). As you were.
There seem to be a few posters on these forums who have very strong and frequently reiterated opinions on EDO despite never having played it.

I don't think my opinion is superior to others.

I KNOW my opinion is superior to others.

This FF event has been a bit rougher than some of the others. I do find them useful for showing me the state of SC. It is still slowly crawling it's way towards being a releasable product. Not paying a cent until then. The game is P2W right now on top of it's full priced completed game buy in. I just can't bring myself to buy into that. But free weekends now and again I can do. There is promise there even if the space ship part of the game does not look like it will ever quite match up well to ED. It does space legs better, that's for sure. Though that is prolly because ED doesn't even have space legs. Just station legs and ground legs. Maybe ED will get better too.

I would kill if ED networking was as good as SC. One of the main things that keeps me from even attempting PvP is how bad networking is in ED compared to SC or most any other MP game I play. I know it works for some people. But not really for me. It is ED not me. Everything else works great. ED can't even keep a friend across town in the same instance as I am half the time.

I find it very telling that Star Citizen, at alpha stage, remains the benchmark for comparison with EDO :sneaky:

How many other massively multiplayer first person space games with ships and on foot gameplay are out there? We could start drawing comparisons between EDO and Escape From Tarkov, or Assetto Corsa Competizione, or Hatoful Boyfriend, but I can't see such arguments going down much far...

EDO already gets compared to dedicated FPS games... No surprise it gets compared to any other game that has part of the content in EDO, some folk need to 'measure' against others 🤷‍♂️

Just like people have been comparing ED with SC since 2013, others have been desperately trying to find 'revealling' and 'telling' things.

Big difference is SC is sold around the idea of having hundreds, or thousands as Roberts claimed, of people in a instance. They are still where CryTek was in 2010. What's the point of a 50-crew battleship sold for thousands of dollars if not even half the crew fills a whole instance?

"SeRvEr mEsHiNg!"

Lol. Sure.

Dual Universe? Single-instance multiplayer, "realistic" economy, no NPCs, base building, ship building - on paper, at least, just what a lot of ED players have been asking for.
