Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

So about seven days ago, I figured I had picked up enough knowledge about the game to try the Leviathan quest (having confirmed from those vidder guys that it could be done in about an hour).

Turned out it was already over.

Do space whales get absorbed into the 'main' game at some point, or is that that?

Space whales are in the main game for those who do the quest with in the time limit, all the rewards move over... including your own smaller space whale...

It does get included in your assets in the game, as GraphiteGB pointed out. It's frustrating to miss the expedition events, but I have a feeling that Hello Games might open up all the expeditions again at some point, especially when the new Switch version is released in August. No switch player has had the chance to do the exp's, and why open only for them if they do? So it wouldn't surprise me if that happens.

Switch also has stupendance rules about putting patches through, there submission process is stupidly complex as they dont allow so many updates pushed out via third parties title...

I wonder how that will work for HG. Every expedition is an update. Maybe they have to unlock them all indefinitely. shrugs

Good news for TrollhunterX, it seems like you can encounter and hire the organic frigates in normal play now too. No need for the expedition reward.

What's interesting is that they're going more and more towards gritty and metal looking sci-fi instead of the Duplo style. The interiors of the freighters are looking more hi-tech and fancy. I'm excited to play again. Haven't played since last expedition. Took too much of my energy from the frustration of dying multiple times and starting over.

Played it half an hour ago. There's a lot to go through, as usual. My freighter base was completely messed up, obviously!

Looking forward to doing the new expedition.
You think there will a new expedition as well? Maybe starting next week?

Oh crap, you're right. There's an expedition coming as well.

These guys... shake my head again

Finaly teleporting to freighter is enabled and teleporting to bridge is enabled as well. No lifts required teleport instead ;).. Yes

The teleportation network has been extended to allow Travellers to teleport directly to their freighter from any space station or planetary base terminus.
Travel directly between the freighter hangar and bridge by way of a short-range teleport network.

Content in the update is not free in game you need a but toad of Salvage Frigate modules... and then you need mats to build every thing you unlock..
Even I did not have enough SFM so had to cherry-pick what I must have unlocked..

Bleh, the ladders suck in this game.
And the stairs I already had built will be gone when I login next?
Yup. They disappeared. I had a couple of them. I did have one in a place that seems like they automatically replaced with a ladder. Kind'a disappointed with that. Not sure why they had to remove them.

On another note, space has improved quite a bit. Fluid gas clouds with electric storms (and sound) and the randomness of rocks really have moved NMS a bit more into Elite territory. Oh, and NPCs mining in the belts. Really cool.

Now I want the addition of guilds.
