When I was passing through, there was a SEA of construction sites. It's actually unbelievable the amount of uptake so far this has had.

That being said, I expect this to fall off within a few weeks as the reality of the commodity grind sets in.

There's an Orbis station being built in the system right next to mine which was amazing - didn't expect anybody else to be building in the immediate neighborhood.

The ED servers must be under a lot of strain 😬

So the servers must be up-has there been an explanation of why they were down yesterday? I found one mention which referenced another but couldnt find that. Wish FD would go back to giving us sensible communications-like a new dev posted thread for any significant happening.
And FD- I dont tweet!! The launcher server status message should accurately reflect whether they are working or not!!

Paul said they know what caused it and were fixing it. No explanations on what happened though - yet.

If anyone needs help with hauling colonization materials👇

These installation already all appeared in the nav panel, I posted about this 2 days ago, if the dark wheel station was one of these installations then it would appear in the nav panel and we would already be able to see it there. If it's not one of these installations and didn't previously appear in the nav panel there's no reason for it to appear in the system map suddenly. What they appear to have done is change the hidden filter in the nav panel that we couldn't previously access, just like turning asteroids or stations on and off. This is obviously part of colonisation so the system architects can see where they have placed installations in the system, whether it was supposed to pass through to all players I don't know, if it was a mistake it will probably be turned off again, if it wasn't it won't assist to find Raxxla because if Raxxla is hidden in such a way it didn't appear in the system map or nav panel it will still be hidden.

Personally I don't believe you will find the dark wheel station so easily, if it even exists, I have a mind that the dark wheel is not what everyone thinks it is, but then there are a lot of opinions on that matter.

We already check all 8th moons in the potato hunt so it's not going to be within 200ly of Sol.
No but it gives an interest in looking into those places that showup as red x's cause even if its just a tourist spot its worth looking into just for exploring sakes.

Another side effect is that virtually no unoccupied systems will be left in the Bubble - the PP 2.0 groups will see to that given their aggressive expansions.

So that means that any red X's even in the very core is suspicious and will well merit investigation.

Oh I'm not surprised that there were problems, there always are with complex software updates and thousands of people accessing servers, so I expected it.
What annoys me is the way FD now communicate such problems. If the servers are down/offline for maintenance the launcher should say so..it shouldnt say they're good! That's the first port of call I see when I try to log into the game. The launcher said they were offline on Wednesday, until they came back. And a top-level thread by a dev saying there's a problem would help...any comments in extant threads should refer to that one... FD used to be much better on this.

i've only been here a litle over a year , but it seems to me 'FDev' isn't exactly the most chatty type bunch lol ( maybe they're just super busy coding & creating )

btw, since i think you mentioned it earlier: Unlike the free (unchecked) naming of player Fleet Carriers, it's gonna be very expen$ive as a troll-namer in Colonisation--> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/naming-stations.634279/post-10558834
Posted this over one of the major PP threads. Fyi, I was only half-joking
Here's hoping whomever stumbles upon RAXXLA ( and/or actual 'Dark Wheel' ) is knowledgeable aware enough pilot to recognize it's importance-of-discovery.

A little report on NGC 7822 - there is indeed a puzzle here. The star placement is 100% intentional. And the puzzle is: where is "S171 1" ?

The star sequence is strangely missing this star, and it's nowhere to be found in the neighborhood. There isn't even a differently named O star around.

The star exists IRL:

And it makes me feel it's basically impossible that all other stars in this sequence got added, but the first one got somehow missed.

There are two beacons around, one postdates the codex so it doesn't count. Cupid's Arrow is meant to bring you here.

Edit: S171 38 is also missing.

Edit 2: I took some shots from around the nebula, and compared the visible stars to galmap and no, there are no extra stars. Everything visible is accounted for. So I suspect 1 & 38 are secondaries on 6 & 44 respectively. Those are O0 VZ instead of O5 V, but that would still work out.

The Butterfly Nebula. Was brought to this by a passenger mission given from Obsidian Orbital in Maia. Took a picture of it from the side cause the image doesnt do it justic but it looks like it is sucking you in.

ok something weird is going on with all ground and space titan POI's . I swear this thing is reconstructing itself. It's also making really weird noises.

The cloud is reforming around Tarranis.

One cool thing about this nebula, is that since you have all those really bright stars, and black holes, you can play with alignment of black holes and stars and align reflections like this:

It's possible one of them from some exact position renders Raxxla.

That's about 3 weeks or more of game time. Not cheap but I'm glad though it's that way. I'm sticking to just ARX naming the main system orbital. Just praying the random name generator will give me names I can live with for the rest 🙏

Here's hoping whomever stumbles upon RAXXLA ( and/or actual 'Dark Wheel' ) is knowledgeable aware enough pilot to recognize it's importance-of-discovery.

It's actually better to not be do knowledgeable so as not to have preconceptions of what Raaxla or TDW may feel or look like. As long as they recognize it's something strange and out of the ordinary that's good enough. And Rubbernuke has a good crew who think out of the box.

Is it just me, or are there two arrows pointing inward to a very hexagonal shape in the centre?? 👀

That whole area south of HIP 92427 where @Macros Black stationed his carrier for a while is interesting. I'm hoping to push my colonies south in that direction but will need to ensure the first one is on solid footing. My first station is a scientific outpost in Col 285 Sector FO-E b26-5:

It's 25+ ly from HIP 92427 and the Trailblazer algorithm placed the first station 5,000 ly from the system's sun. Hoping to get it to 30% today, day 3 🤞
