There is a system named "Gurney Slade", which is a reference to the title of a cult 60's surreal sitcom that was apparently beloved of DB... (It is also the name of a village in Somerset with a jolly nice pub :) )
Anthony Newley, 6 episodes, very surreal and fun and out on DVD. Braben has good taste!

You probably won't believe me then, when I tell you that not too far from Gurney Slade is a village called Midsomer Norton...
My grandfather was a miner there. Before all the murders ;)

I can't. Because in order to take Raxxla seriously, you must take ED seriously.
But so many disappointments and inconsistencies ...

Well, I don't mean serious outside the realms of the game itself, but in-game. What I mean to say is that I hope people on these forums don't just post random things to say they found something when they really haven't. That's what general Discord channels are for.

I would hope that if something were legitimately found, such evidence would be posted. I feel this is a community effort.

People.

I believe to have found another clue to Raxxla or DW.

Recent Galnet articles about the Art Thief.

Look into the pieces that they stole. Now find the connections to the Nereids. Those are connected to Cassiopeia.

Now look into what the art thief stole the first time...

Holy moly, let the speculation begin

On that basis, I wouldn't rule anything out :D

I thought it was a character from Dune

All I found was a part of me that was missing. An out of touch part of myself that I've not seen in a long while. Something I had been searching for for years now.. And it's been an empowering experience on many levels. It has done away with years of depression and all the behaviors that come along with it. I discovered something much more than a planet or a flight through Maia B to Andromeda. I did not want Raxxla to be a journey. I wanted Andromeda, and who knows, maybe it too exists. But I found something that opened a part of me that needed to open. Something I had yearned for on a truly deep level.
It served as my own hammer to knock down My Wall.
I discovered my own personal Kora and stand here now with an upright spine and a smile.
I feel happy. I feel different. I feel better. I cannot imagine anything more powerful to discover.

No I was not able to reproduce the Hades incident. It may have been a bug. Time will tell.
Careful who you follow my friends. Always use critical thinking. Leave your mind open to possibilities.

Fly Safe.

Some of the names (of the artists and the investigators) are anagrams. For example, Madoc Evander = More Advanced. Femi Abram = Mamba Fire. Imogen Ryang has a whole slew of anagrams, though few make sense in the context of the game. Barclay Uxor has the letters for "Raxla" in it, though only one x. I'm not very good with codes or anagrams, perhaps you guys could also check the link to the full articles posted by Oblackhando and check for anagrams.

This may not be related to Raxxla; it may be something about the next expansion.

Also, I wonder if we can see this (or something similar) on Mars, heh. Don't have time to check today, unfortunately, sorry about that.

Would you mind a brief ELI5 summary? I'm not very cultured and don't see the link of the art pieces to the references you point out. :)

https://vagabondsofraxxla.wordpress.com/galnet-cat-thief-article/

here are some of my notes on the cat thief..

Rembrandt in an uncharacteristically defiant pose, and the famous Picasso on the pain of war and an early cubist picture..

Terra Absentia means 'missing ground', but of course, no wikipedia page for a painting done in 23xx.

feel free to browse the rest of my notes..

YB

Terra Absentia would have been painted in 22xx, wouldn't it?

23. century is usually 2200-2299.

It's in the Raxxla period. :D

The empire has cloning tech. Reclamation and Premonition spoiler
Maybe the Cat heists are related to a Salome clone? Salome was named after a cat after all, and the leaders of the empire were involved with Salome in Premonition. .
A Massive stretch, but just an idea.

The feds losing nukes near/on Earth seems to be a recurring part of galnet. (the current moon stuff, and ancient ww3 duds on sol from a while ago.) What were nukes used for in the old games? Did they have any uses other than destroying inra mil sats?

Mmm, like the Salomé possibility; had forgotten she was named after a cat...
