Having docked up near Isinor I handed in my small amount of exploration data for today. I was surprised that I got a first explored tag in Ra. Ra 5 and Ra 10 e. Even though it has been explored. I checked 10e as it has an Ammonia atmosphere. Odd. Must be a bug. Nice payout though. Really nice.

That's where I found it! Out in this mysterious HIP.

Hmmmmm.......

Check ships for additional markings. To me that number is a a hint they used wormholes.
This observation could be crucial!

In particle physics, the ADD model, also known as the model with large extra dimensions (LED), is a model framework that attempts to solve the hierarchy problem by explaining the weakness of gravity relative to the other forces. This hypothesis requires that the fields of the Standard Model be confined to a four-dimensional membrane, while gravity propagates in several additional spatial dimensions that are large compared to the Planck scale.

Holdstock's The Darkwheel is 'canonish'. Makes it hard to sort out. It's definitely the heart of Elite even if it's only the heart in my own opinion ;)
Sure, Doc.
I really hope Raxxla will turn out to be exactly as exciting and exotic as RZ describes it...
I... hope.

any chance you can share the system name so others can help in looking?

It's a bit close to my own secret base, so I don't want to give it up unless it really is something. Initial surveys didn't reveal anything Raxxla or TDW related. I'll go back once I get in tight with the self-proclaimed Dark Wheel faction and give it a bit more of a detailed look. It's probably nothing...

Question: is everyone here allied with the Dark Wheel faction? Also, anyone regularly run tourist missions for them? You never know, maybe one of their VIP "tourists" will take us somewhere interesting! I might try this myself.

I was doing missions for them in LFG 926, the same faction, to get them into expansion and making them powerful with hopes that it will trigger something then I got bored.

Based on "The whisperer in witch space"...

Has anyone tried doing any filtering/audio processing on the sounds we hear during a hyperspace jump? It's possible there's something buried in there.

It is probably nonsense but ... when I saw system with more than 12 moons and we still think RAXXLA is just abbrev then LA can be first body (A) orbiting 12th moon (L). We know from Codex and other sources about the Dark Wheel near of 8th moon so why not similar approach.

If peeps think XX could be 20, then why not XL = 40? I bet Raxxla is code for the first moon of the 40th planet in system 'Rax' ;)

Flying an Eagle, I hauled 1 each of the following rare goods to The Oracle at Delphi:
- waters of shintara (shinrarta dezhra)
- lavian brandy (lave)
- hr 7221 wheat
- terra mater blood bores
- Soontill Relics (Ngurii)
- altairan skin (altair)
- crom silver fesh
- Banki Amphibious Leather (500k ls)
- jotun mookah
- Belalans Ray Leather
- rapa bao snake skins
- Ceremonial Heike Tea
- Vanayequi Ceratomorpha Fur
- hutton mug
- centauri mega gin (hutton orbital)
- vega slimweed
- Aganippe Rush
- V Herculis Body Rub (V1090 Herculis, 500k ls)
- Live Hecate Sea Worms
- Personal Gifts (Njambalba)
- Ngadandari Fire Opals (500k ls)

I also delivered 1 normal grain, wine & beer.
I collected all the rare goods with a DBX and then switched to an Eagle in a system near Delphi to fly the final leg and turn the goods in.
Nothing happened after each delivery, except that I'm now cordial with whatever faction runs the Oracle.

In the Dark Wheel story, Alex Ryder attracts the attention of the dark wheel by selling a certain kind of silk rare goods.

Additionally, I know there's been some interested in WR 104, the Spiraling stars.
I looked at the translation for "Princess Astrophil and the Spiraling Stars" in German & Spanish.

German: prinzessin astrophel und die spiralsterne
Spanish: La princesa Astrophil y las estrellas en espiral

In Spanish her name changes to 'Astrophil' with an i instead of an e.
Also, while the english 'spiraling' implies movement, the other two seem to just describe stars in a certain pattern/shape.
A native speaker of either language could clarify.

Well I wanted be quiet but ... yes there are many possibilities when we know code but no idea about meaning. Some sectors have "RA-X" in system name - for example Praea Euq RA-X b15-0. I'm using check AA-A hx (where x is number) systems for wolf rayet and other rare stars. There is logic behind naming systems (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-the-system-name-reveals-the-main-star-mostly). Is something uncommon for systems named RA-X? Is it worth of effort to try find some RA-X hx because hx contains special stars often and we all know Raxxla is very special ( haha maybe really rogue planet or rogue (intergalactic) star ) :) ?

I admire your approach and dedication! I just wonder if Frontier would have gone through the trouble of writing the programming code for something as complex as this. They've done some crazy things in the past, like embedding maps in audio files, but it feels like they have less time to spare these days for "extra-curricular" development. Unless an "unlock Raxxla" mechanism was added very early in the development of the game...

Raxxla has been in-game since the beta (source DB), hence it makes sense for the mechanism to access it (if it is indeed accessible, we assume so else this thread is pointless) should also have been implemented from the outset. The in-game object which represents Raxxla may have been polished/upgraded with game improvements (as Zurara was upgraded from a derelict anaconda to a derelict megaship when the latter were introduced) but I doubt the access mechanism has been altered. And yes, I also doubt that access mechanism requires overly-complicated procedures. I suspect it is “hidden” in plain sight but nobody has thought to try to access it in the correct manner, e.g. a black hole that has been set up as a hyperspace transition (like a high wake point) once you get within the event horizon, or a low-emission station with low reflectivity that must be seen visually (“eyes to see”) within a short distance (e.g. a light second or so).

Another possibility is that it is hidden off the beaten path; MB once said something about things of interest being off the ecliptic & I don’t think we ever had that comment explained. The only things I’ve ever found off the ecliptic were uss.

I know I'm late to the party, but I still found this very exciting!

I couldn't accept the mission because I need more rep with the Dark Wheel, but I did bookmark the system (over 7KLY away) just in case this isn't offered to me again. Right now CMDR Jenny (who was my alt until recently) is my primary Raaxla searcher, but I may send CMDR Duck on these "excursions" way outside the Bubble while Jenny sticks to her original search area. Right now the goal is to get them both allied with the Dark Wheel, just in case this is a "key" to "unlocking" whatever awaits.

ps - if you've been to this site, please spoiler tag any details you may wish to share about it. Thanks!

Children of Raxxla is a player based squardon and FD created minor faction after them ( I'm not 100% since I never played this game since Beta or at launch) that has nothing to do with Raxxla itself. It was a group that was lead by Salome in Premonition (as well as Reclamation I think).

This mission had something to do with the travels of Salome before she died.

Well aren't you a wet blanket on the warm fires of my heart :p

I check that site out of curiosity cause I heard of the Salome event it was the staging area before the mission started and eventually Salome died.

Is it at all odd that the empire was founded in 2296 following Duval and her followers move and also that the first mention of Raxxla was recorded that same year?
It's 2320 for the founding of the Empire.

Mid 2200s (century) - arrival in Achenar
2292 - colonisation of 6D (Capitol)
2320 - Founding of the Empire (conversion of Republic to Empire)

Which is actually probably more interesting date-wise! :)

The Elite Dangerous OST has a track called "The Natives of Achernar". Also included are many other pieces named after various star systems, and some additional artwork of the system also seen in Elite Dangerous menu screen.

I was just thinking to myself and looking into the whole idea with tinfoil hat and amusing myself on with what Old Duck brought up.

What if " Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars " isn't the actual book " Astrophel and Stella ( that we know of) since it's a Male falling in love with a Female.

Since the codex insist that Astrophel is Female, they do have the resemblance of using stars. But lets look away from that book that Philip Sidney wrote and go into Elite Lore and replace the male perspective to a female perspective instead.

In essence the whole story changes but remarkably it is the female perspective that loves the stars themselves and in no use of metaphors.

Which the real title the codex is presenting us with someone with royal blood the actual title would then be called "Lady Kahina Tijani Loren (Salome) and the Spiralling Stars"
