Oh hang on, maybe it just refers to the 'unlock' mission that you get to unlock the engineer from some of them. That would need to know your current rank with them so it doesn't duplicate and does provide one at the right time in the right place on the right board.
Hmm, not sure what you mean here?

Engineers are unlocked at their own bases but if you need to get a system permit for Alioth, Sol or Sirius (etc) first, that's handled by the controlling faction. On reaching Allied you should see the permit mission appear at the top of the list on all mission boards where that faction has a contact but you might need to relog (or launch) to force a status update to the mission service when you first hit Allied.

I was going over constelation stars for the heck of it and put in the word jewel. This brings up the jewel box sector. Then I looked up the sonnets and low and behold there is a sequence of special stars with no last number named fly. In the sonnet one of the references near cupid is:
20

Fly, fly, my friends, I have my death wound; fly!
See there that boy, that murthering boy I say,
Who like a thief, hid in dark bush doth lie,
Till bloody bullet get him wrongful prey.
So tyrant he no fitter place could spy,
Nor so fair level in so secret stay,
As that sweet black which veils the heav'nly eye:
There himself with his shot he close doth lay.
Poor passenger, pass now thereby I did,
And stayed pleas'd with the prospect of the place,
While that black hue from me the bad guest hid:
But straight I saw motions of lightning grace,
And then descried the glist'ring of his dart:
But ere I could fly hence, it pierc'd my heart.

And here is Jewel Box Sector FL-Y D20. It is part of a whole sequence of stars. Just type in the name with D0-whatever.

One of the brightest/whitest most obvious star in the sector.

Is anyone near it and willing to check? I'm 7k out atm.

Right next to NGC 4755 also.

Sonnet 19 mentions Cupid's Bow. Cupid's Arrow is in game, bow possibly also in-game (the greater nebula in which the arrow is located).
The line of O class stars that make up the Arrow points to the Bubble, and is actually not a line as much as a triangular barrel (possibly spiral - more like a spring). I didn't have a chance to do the coordinate math to figure out which star in the Bubble it's aimed at.

I think you can use coordinates and figure out the line. treat it like a triangle then find an intersecting point. You can even find distance easily enough. Can you use delphi or zues as a third point? You can divide and intersect any circle with lines to make triangles.

If you draw it out and keep making right angles you can eventually find the line and where it is aiming. Just use basic math like A^2+B^2=C^2.

Distance is: Sqrt(|A1-A2|^2+|B1-B2|^2+|C1-C2|^2)

And probably this: https://mathcs.clarku.edu/~djoyce/java/elements/elements.html

I wonder if the eagle nebula could have anything to do with it. How many other things have the name eagle in them in the game?

I did a simple test by using the last star and zooming backwards to the first star in the set and then zooming back to the bubble. Went past Inra and on the other side Charick drive. So, it may be pointing towards sols direction. This is very inaccurate though obviously.

Can you use the above to extract points on a line and find a system? You could probably find it at x point every x ly and then look for things. Maybe with an average of the distance of the objects and find the points per say and a direction.

The more of those innacurate things I do the more it seems to point in the direction of sol. Or something nearby. if anything it makes a vertical line going straight up and down through sol from alioth/kuk down to achenar and hits a bunch of engineering planets. I wonder if the engineering planets mirror the ones in NGC 7822.

Be honest though.... Nobody really wants to find raxxla. Because you know, deep down, that it isn't going to be satisfying.

The amount of time spent placing it is a tiny fraction of the time spent by any single person looking for it and creating clues and backstory where none exist.

Raxxla can never be more interesting and beneficial to the game and its lore than while it isn't found. It becomes cancerous once it is because it will require content that doesn't exist, all players will hate it for different reasons, and it can no longer inspire players.... And there is nothing that can replace it.

So for fdev's sake... Hopefully it is never found.

Some time ago, I stopped looking for Raxxla, became an ordinary researcher of various aspects of the game. And now I understand that I am much closer to her. Do your usual activities in the game, and you will be more likely to come out. Yes, and in the guide of the pilots and hinted.

Maybe we should try it. Lets support Aegis Core and raise their influence. We start our rebellion by pushing Mother Gaia out of SOL! ..erm, is it possible to change the leading faction of a system? If yes, we should try it. We are many, we are brave, we have brandy .. to SOL! (cheering crowd in the background..)
When I was meditating late at night yesterday, I realized one important thing, drew or fdev were surprised that so far we have not found raxxla, although we should have. We are losing sight of something, something completely banal, you just need to think it over. This toast does not go out of my head. I don’t think that all the text is a map, but rather combined tips. where is my whiskey? Now I will try to describe my thought

There has only been 15,320 posts on this subject before this one. I am sure you are 90% closer to finding raxla. This means it should be found by the time another 1,532 posts are made. Mind you if I am wrong and you are only 10% of the way there then expect another 132,000 posts before you achieve this goal.

Every journey begins with but a step and it is the steps between the first and last one that define the journey. Follow your nose and you will always see where you are going.

I may have drank some of Skyrock's wiskey, just don't tell him.

I lost my cowboy hat made of foil, if someone finds a request, bring it to Rubigo.
Analyzing the report of the holdstock, a lot of things haunt me ... The toast itself, is it the whole card? I think not, it is too banal and simple, but even if it is a card, it does not give us anything. We will find out all the points, and then what?
We were told everything was too obvious to give clues, but nonetheless, we have clues in the form of a toast and the history of the game. here the most important thing is not to mix up the plots, what we are doing successfully ... They told us that we would read the news between the lines.

The first line of the toast directly points to one of the three systems, tau, sol and achenar.

Second line, whisper, siren. in fact, any satellite transmitting coordinates is suitable for this, or you need to fly outside the system and stop and hear a call.

The third line deserves special attention. Why is everyone stubbornly ignoring the obvious? They come up with Stella, the cupid, but no one absolutely wants to see the obvious. This is the Ryder family. And what a coincidence in Sol is Oberon and Neptune.

Going back, what do we do with this information? Saul seems to have been examined up and down. Maybe action is expected from us? but which ones?
Since I am at work and if you read up to this place I have a request, try to destroy an unknown satellite or voyager, maybe this will give something.
__
think that's all?
Suppose the first line speaks of sol, the second will speak of Nefertim or the system between sol and Nefertiy, the third line of lave.

What do you think?

If its the video Im thinking of he was speculating if it was possible to find a way in to the Col Sector or overleap permit-locked, as many others have done.

Gnosis pretty much shows what would happen if we did find a way in that shouldn't be there, its not meant to be discovered until the time is right.

Thread on financial report says ED is 'expanding the galaxy' significantly later this year. Whether that means in terms of area, as in unlocking some permit locked, or whether it means adding more gameplay and content to existing systems is unclear. Also says fdev are committed to free content as they believe it leads to the longevity of the games - which has been proven by the sales and after sales upgrades (50% of ED purchasers bought Horizons - not clear how many 'active' players bought or did not buy but obviously way more than 50%. Reminds me of Elite where there was one copy sold for every single BBC Micro in the UK at the time - considering some must have been company computers that's more than staggering)
Adding Gas Giant content would significantly 'expand' the space(s) we could interact with.

Company computer? Well, it wasn't in use when I raced home from school to bounty hunt.

Does anyone have a 'full' faction bar for Federation/Empire/Alliance? I think I have federation, but I'll need to check later in-game to be 100%. Don't think I have Empire and certainly not alliance.

I wonder if this is how we might get a DW invite? Take a passenger into the Universe and get a follow-up to drop on a TDW station?! One can only hope... as I've never received a chained passenger mission, never!
Superpower rep doesn't work like that once you're Admiral / King, it kinda fluctuates around 75%.

I've Allied with all the engineers in the bubble but not Colonia and didn't get a TDW invite thus far...

[Edit: Also got most, if not all available Federation, Empire and independent faction permit locks.]

Have we considered the possibility that Raxxla is related to Guardians? Have we looked into the shape/size/location of Guardian ruins as a potential clue? I couldn't help but notice that the center north structure resembles a key. And the border is a hexagon. And even though it's pushing it with this one, the bottom left pattern kind of looks like an orbis station.

Yes

This week I have mostly been plodding round the Pleiades tracking down and solving all the Beacons. I have found over a dozen abandoned or attacked settlements, been hyperdicted another half dozen times, accidentally boosted into a Tharg just before shutdown and upset her and got away with 28% hull and also just about kept Aisling happy for another week so I could get that last size 8 Prismatic in a desperate race for funds before the clock ran out.

Now have 2m in the bank and a 26m rebuy so that's fun, bit more wary of other players now but nothing to report.

All the Pleiades beacons (and I think I got them all, I been literally everywhere, 1st mapped a couple too), all point to Thargoid activity, some to INRA and Thargoid. None seem to hint at anything else. All the 'strange lights' are related to Thargoid so far.

Theres plenty of mysteries in this game but none lead to Raxxla so far.

Opportunity missed (again) FDev! Imagine it knew where you were going and offered missions to that location, even if it was outside the 20LY typical limit. I'd really like to grab missions along a travel path I've already set and pop in at stations along the way to help systems further along with specific cargo needs etc.

Instead, I'm regularly jumping from one side of the bubble to the other with no cargo or missions.
That’s not an opportunity missed. It’s an opportunity that still remains.

The mission board is essentially just a ‘push’ function using public information on you (as a pilots federation) member.

It’s essentially the inverse you want, where there’s a ‘pull’ function based on non-public information which you might choose to publicise, such as your intended flight path. Essentially you advertising your services, as opposed to looking at a list of contracts that others are advertising.

That side of things requires action on your part, the mission board does not. It’s a different thing.

It’s come up before, particularly in terms of passengers, but you could always put a suggestion in for it, as there’s no guarantee it’s on FD’s radar.

What they ^^ said...

Have mentioned it in more detail in several places where it doesn't appear to have gained traction...

Seems possible air traffic controller systems might have a flight plan requirement to dock or leave?

Hmm...watching new video (russian):
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APNWOnUPeUY

It's about "zone of life" in galaxy scale. he says, that is area where star's rotation speed around core is equal to spiral sleeve's rotation/move speed. So star remains inside sleeve (co-rotation zone).
And well, basically, my round trip shows that right part of Galaxy, which is heavy infected by life is in this zone (mostly)...
Interesting, if FD knew that or just model made this result.

:D

Raxxla is a certain celestial body, The Myth, but also a place that isn't a place.
A scientist may assume it's kind of a Black Hole... (As many players already stated and investigated)
But any Buddhist here to really enlighten us ?

Ironically you're not far off a mark with the Buddhism comment. My first impression of the "...place but not a place" statement has always been simplistic. It's a place (or type of place) you know about, but you don't know it's a place.

An example of this logic would be Witchspace. It's a place, but we don't think of it as a place you can go to or as a place that holds much significance. Along the same line of thinking, Raxxla could also be an undetectable planet, since it's a place but you wouldn't KNOW it's a place without being able to scan it.

Possibly a contorted way of looking at things, but riddles of this nature often have simple conclusions that subvert expectations by virtue of being obvious when you think about it.

Will answer to meself at https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/the-quest-to-find-raxxla.168253/post-8288524

Just came XTE J1748-288, it is 163.xx sols masses ... still no heat until u hit excl zone. This is biggest one I met except Sag A*
Also there is cool bug ... once u engage from ...u have thing to align, u aligned, and stopped drive ...well ...because it does not work immedial and overheat( I think u need rotation match too) ... so any next time u engage - that align point is not shown any more ....guess urself :D
If somebody can repeat near heavy objects (starting from planets) - plz make a tickets separated to fix it. Also I would put rotation bug .... i dont need rotate (around symmetrical axis of ship) to engage in direction.
