There used to whole communities online solely devoted to expanding the lore (Elite fiction web rings) that have existed since the Internet was a a thing. The concept of the Club was not Braben's. It wasn't even Drew Wager's. It came from stories like "The Price of the Elite" which was written by Simon Challands. About 5% of the lore was official and 95% unofficial. If you ignore the fan-lore, you ignore the bulk of stuff that inspired myths for The Dark Wheel and Raxxla. The official stuff merely hints at the truth of the situation.

For some reason, all the supposedly important names in the game somehow connected with the ancient Greek myths.
I decided to look up Arcadia on the Internet and immediately came across the 2023 series with the logo of ...

Does this kind of symbol has any meaning in ancient Greek mythology or philosophy?

44 Arcadia Stations
34 Delphi Stations
Now that is interesting…

A seed might still only work against a fixed average, and potentially a fixed sphere of influence, otherwise you would flood the bubble.

That’s a manageable size, if / when I have the capacity I might look to plot these (for fun).

Again it’s more likely an automation, but if it’s not one might see some relation, hotspots etc.

Any grouping might be unintentional - on their own, but when compared with any other data it could identify an involuntary correlation; areas the Devs are avoiding (!). If intentional, it could identify key locations or conjunctions…

So I googled Arcadia, found a page on top in German language. made a translation through the Google translator in English:

In Greek mythology, Arcadia was transfigured into the place of the "golden age" where people lived in idyllic nature as content and happy shepherds, unencumbered by tedious work and social pressure to adapt.

Two notable places in Elite Dangerous:

System: Arcadian
Population: 0
Coordinates: 32.0625 / -40.15625 / 35.4375
Distance to Sol: 62.42 ly

Galactic region: Arcadian Stream
Approximate locale: Right of core forming stream of stars that forms the bulk of Norma Arm (also separate region nearby)

Someone was asking for decode tools, a few hours back.
If automated analysis is required on some text/name, a few websites offer their services.
As we speak about a game, only the simplest (de)obfuscation methods are reasonable to consider (like Cesar letter or word substitution)
No I was asking if we have any deciphering experts on the thread. I’ve already tried those tools, with no success, but then I am definitely not a cypher expert

Most things in Elite Dangerous are merely hidden via language or symbols to obfuscate the connection. For the few actual encrypted messages we have out there, we generally had something that swapped characters or had symbols that represent letters. Would need to see what you suspect has something buried in some form so we can determine what exactly we are up against. Encryption is but only one method to hide things in plain view. Honestly, sometimes esoteric symbolism/messages are more effective than encryption itself because you have to realize there are more layers.

Chi Orionis
Anumclaw
46 Eridani
Teorge

I'm sure these have been extensively searched...
Chi Orionis and Teorge are really lore important. That said, remember just because you were taught something doesn't mean it's entirely true. That lesson applies particularly with Chi Orionis and Teorge. This is given that the Secret Base is a physical impossibility due to insane surface pressure and surface temperature hotter than a lot of stars in Soontill 1. CIEP isn't opposed to TDW, the CIEPers most notably Robert Garry, Elvira Martuuk* were actively involved to cover-up Raxxla. Soontill was the Club's plausible deniability. The same is true for Meta-Drive which literally means something akin to "about (Frameshift) drives". Sirius Corporation invented the FSD back at Sol and it has hardly changed since. Anyone claiming otherwise, is actively seeking to mislead.

gnosis (-g·no·sis): From Greek γνῶσις. Knowledge.

1. The higher meaning of Gnosis is knowledge from experience, especially experience of divinity or that which is beyond the five senses. The word Gnosis does not refer to knowledge that we are told or believe in. Gnosis is conscious, experiential knowledge, not merely intellectual or conceptual knowledge, belief, or theory. This term is synonymous with the Hebrew דעת "da'ath," the Arabic ma'rifah, the Tibetan rigpa (knowing), and the Sanskrit "jna."

2. Gnosis can also refer to the tradition that embodies the core wisdom or knowledge of humanity, although in the physical world it has not been known by that name, but instead has adopted varying appearances according to culture, time, and place.

* - Elvira Martuuk is 2nd gatekeeper of TDW and she does actively warn you the Soontill plot was complete rubbish.

For the records, there was an intentional typo with Anumclaw which was spelled Arumclaw on Galnet.
As we are about to learn for the Nemesis ship, everything has its purpose.
It's an interesting mistake because an "r" before a "u" look a lot like a "n" if you read fast (which is normally the default mode for the brain, unless one still struggles with lecture).
I believe it is intentional.
To make it short. It could highlight a value by which we are to decode something. "r" to "n" is 4 (r=18th, n=14th). 4 is a "d".
Maybe if we trace back all typos in the news (how?) we could have something.
Or maybe this value, "4" is a key by which we can flip letters to obtain something....

Are we talking the whole Salvation/Azimuth Saga or more narrow? That is an interesting observation.

Ariane Key

Strange entry... CMDR Ariane Key? Talk about symbols!

Edit : I'm on my way to Sadr, so if someone wants to have a look...
Will check it just in case it contains a hint of something. In-service date for the Type-9 is 3300, though. I mean wouldn't rule it. There is a lot of not entirely explainable twists in the Elite Universe's history that are hard to explain. May still get you looking at specific events.

Speaking of Raxxla.. the Codex mentions El Dorado, Atlantis, and other myths. Alioth seems to be frequently described in ways similar to El Dorado. It has been repeatedly fought over by Empire and Federation. Coincidence? Maybe not.
