Thank you bitstorm, this is additional information I haven't seen about the mission regarding what the factions are looking for in the containers. I'll be sure to try the Silent Song mission without the actual spheres if possible. Not sure how to test the Outer Rim mission, as there's no cargo to non-deliver.
I have a few questions, I hope you can answer for me:
- How did you come to think about trying to see what would happen if you tried to deliver without the actual containers?
- Did you try to complete the mission and deliver a stolen container(s)?
- Your two screenshots are almost identical, was that intention?
And yes, the Dark Wheel faction does seem to be a rather complicated faction
1) Just experimenting with the mission, trying to figure out if there's a link to the Unknown Artefact.
2) Not sure what you're asking here, I've completed this mission many times. You still get the bugged mission text on completion. Are you specifically asking about the version given out by The Dark Wheel? Yes I completed that nothing out of the ordinary happened.
3) The latter is the only screen shot I have of The Dark Wheel mission, I added the mission header at the top. I thought I'd taken a screenshot of the initial mission page but it seems not. =(

Summary: Retrieve Black Box from given system. First Black Box located in a WSS. Listening gave only faint regular beeps. Top and Bottom pics shows respectively the top of 3 orbs or spheres? Hypothesis: Black Box contains data crystals containing the ships log with mission details and the ships course. Data crystals/spheres are the basis for the Mission: Obfuscated In The Outer Rim / Mission: Silent Song Of The Spheres, although it is strange why the cryptographers is in doubt of it's human/alien origin, if it was simply a data crystal from a ships log.

On that Black Box one, do you know if going back to the mission giver without the item as per my comment above (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=168253&p=2595789&viewfull=1#post2595789) was tested or is it unknown?
Heya,
I was doing some digging on the UA and this mission got my attention.
I have since been directed here and I see you have these missions listed so I'll pass this onto you if it makes any difference I dunno.
This one is from Harma, Gabriel station, Silver Cartel faction.
If this helps, I also found Hafnium 178 convoy in this system (Phraces), all the rings are pristine. Also an UA convoy was found in a nearby system, Krisha.
Also loads of Trinkets of Hidden Fortune in nearby systems. I have been taking them from haulers in the area and selling at BM.

My most recent theory (thanks to Cmdr nilreb for pointing me to the What Was Lost Will Soon Be Found missions) is that the data crystals originate from Black boxes from ships that has been to the Outer Rim trying to locate Raxxla, Although I have not discovered any specifics on the map, the coordinates or the context.
I have yet to discover a tangible link between Raxxla, the UA's and the Hafnium 178.

I believe the missions are available in all stations if your rank and rep are adequate. I have not found a way to read the flight recorders yet, but I believe that's what the Dark Wheel is currently trying to accomplish.

Just a thought, but do the numbers printed on the outside of the SAP 8 Core cargo containers mean anything to anyone?
I compared one of my container's numbers with another one on the wiki today, and they look identical. I'm thinking that any useful information would be stored in the data crystals inside the container; however as to the meaning of the numbers, I've got no clue other than they are simple (identical) identification numbers for the canisters.

Now i looked into the "aladin" star-atlas and found a star right at the coordinates:
"18 01 24.082 -24 12 2.26" in the positive angle there is a super bright star very close,
but nothing right next to the coordinates.
Now to find out what designation the coordinates have...
as i did theorize on the UA thread here are my thoughts.

Hi Cmdr, only conjecture I'm afraid. Finding Raxxla using encoding from the name itself would be rather sneaky, but probably not without the reaches of the imaginations of FD. Not logged in atm, but what about grid reference 181,24,24, planet @121LY?
Maybe we need to be triple elite to get a reaction from the missions or Dark Wheel and complete all the missions then see what happens.

You can find the mentioned location in the GalMap;open it and find the coordinates, it'll be a box with potentially more than one system, and if you are lucky;just one.

How can i tell which grid is which? Can you give me an idea how to use your method?
I am not that firm in astrology, yet i have some serious fun joini9ng up this treasure hunt.
Found some "rare" bodies:
Class M Dwarf-Star with Ring
If i remember correctly the FFE plot spun around Polaris,
including the "Turner Class" ship.
Polaris is one of the brightest stars visible from earth.
Have the other objects in the "brightest star list" been checked out?
I think you need a very bright star, best with a big solar mass used as
a stellar beacon for long range travels.
Any ideas on how i can check what their designation is in E: D?

If I may come with a suggestion: Take the pictures from the Debug view, that way you'll don't see the cockpit.
Open the GalMap, and simply scroll to the coordinates, sadly the ones I suggested is a grid containing no stars.
