Needs to be something that comes from the books to hold value in this search. Sadly. I have all sorts of ideas but if they don't apply to the story than I try to shy away. The rabbit trails are already everywhere with the story alone.

For solid evidence, you're absolutely right but I don't think there is one solid enough.

My way is possibly slightly unfair, because whoever created the mystery was a human, with all human thinking patterns and I try to exploit that. I'm brute-force hacking the design by making connection based on what the creator could think (eliminating false threads and finding the optimal template) when he made the secret, rather than following clues he left. Assuming that someone did it with passion (given the circumstances I think it is not wrong) he had to use existing connections even if they lie outside of the game world to give significance to the matter. And if one person could think that, all you now need is some empathy to let his thoughts guide you ;)

Solid evidence is the one thing missing from this quest. The closest we come to solid evidence is The Dark Wheel novella which isn't truly considered to be canon (though aspects of that story do creep up in canonical sources).

By the way. Just went to Sirius. You guys remember that this is THE system you always get the FSD overcharged safety limit notification?

What if that is not a bug. What is something is triggering it.

I've been testing it a bit, from time to time. It never seem to happen in other systems with white dwarfs.

I want to test it a bit more, before dismissing it as a bug.

I noticed this too, but it only happens occasionally - do you know how to trigger it? Is it just a case of "scooping the dwarf"? Dwarf scooping.... Sounds SO wrong.

You don’t have to scoop at all. It happens when flying from Sirius to Sirius B and seem to be a bit more frequent flying from B to A.

I does not seem to happen in deep space, far from the stars.

Thanks Han. Did anyone check how much their range increased for jumping? Or does it not increase and you just get the message?

2 hours ago I used my DBX (58.26 LY base) to supercharge on the white dwarf. Gave usual boost to 86LY - so I was able to one jump to Alioth, no extra effects unfortunately. There must be something more.

I believe there is something in Alioth you need to do first, then go to Sirius instead.

OK, thanks. So it does actually give you a 50% boost bonus - good to know. Might jump in game in a while and try it out.

The plot sickens!

Also helps to know what's rolling around in those minds.
Throw this in the mix, Brooks is a fan of Lovecraft and has this tattooed on his back.

Raxxla my be the doorway to the elder gods, a careful what you wish for myth.
Babylon 5 "Thirdspace" is a good syfy version of it.

When you get the message far from the jet cones in Sirius, you get no boost at all.
If you enter the cones of Sirius B, you get the normal white dwarf boost.

The message is the same.

Looking at the drawing - Gate is guarded by two stars. One high one low - North and South (Polaris and Sirius). Other things seem largely irrelevant. "Autism alarm" didn't went off.

For the Bifrost to work as in the mythology it needs to be ignited.

Sirius has been known as Lokabrenna ("burning done by Loki", or "Loki's torch"). Who so, the one who bears the torch (Lightbearer = Lucifer) ignites the Bifrost with Loki's Torch to open the gate to Arcadia. Loki is obviously the Nordic equivalent of Lucifer.

For the ones pursuing Egyptian angle - Sirius is associated with the goddess Sopdet... and look at the symbol over her head. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopdet

Interesting. So, after all, it seems there ARE clues... on the skin of the Boss. He must be a fan of Prison Break too...
My two pence for the mix: ( beware, autism alarm ahead ! ;))
The star in the lower right quadrant of the tattoo might as well be Aldebaran (Alpha Tauri, 65 Ly from Sol and homing the Lovecraftian city of Carcosa ['You know Carcosa ?' True Detective]). We might see Derleth's Great Old One tentacular Hastur, the Indicible coming out of his den with his Byakhees all around. Can't remember the name of the scaled one...his servant iirc...
Concerned by the presence of the Archangel St Michael next to The Door or Gate (guarding from Lucifer/Loki ?). Can't remember any star specifically related to him which would help to furthermore confirm the Polaris-Sirius thing ...
Currently chasing our excellent Macros in the outer rim near BP... too far to investigate this tinfoil stuff ...

(Seriously, who in his healthy judgment would wear such a tattoo ? [haha] )

- Waypoint orbits Sirius A in and almost centric orbit at 2 AU. This is exactly 1/10 of the max distance between A and B. The system COG will at times be inside the orbit of Waypoint.

Wait a minute ... if Lucifer is tidally locked would it's dynamo even work? Anyone with a specialty in physics willing to try and work that out?
