Theres not a lot of lore and a lot of what 'fdev did wrong' with phrases like 'I could be cruel and say' and then says it. Pretty obvious a lot of bitterness because he totally messed up the Salome chase by handing it over to his own personal sycophant club when fdev wanted it available to the whole community, that's why fdev haven't even tried to do another one, real shame as could have been the start of something great but cliques and egos killed it before it even started.

Not a lot of research either, trying to enter Permit locked systems and filling time by repeating himself and loading different games, preparation would have loaded the game before and found out it was Permit locked.

Been a real disappointment so far, hence the low viewing figures and people switching off.

I keep hoping it will actually be great as have looked forward to it since announcement, its just been a massive let-down so far..

I've actually liked it so far. Yes, he does get into the FDev bashing but I just kind of ignore those bits and get the lore. I've definitely learned things I didn't know. Most of the players in the instances I have been in just play around and have fun just flying around and doing things while he talks in the background. I probably enjoy the fun little games we do (as individuals in the instances I was in) more than anything. It's a nice little break from the daily grind. Note: these are not like the coordinated "Sloughwinder" Demolition Derby that everyone did a few episodes ago (though that was super fun too), these are just things that we do in our instance. I usually get thrown into a group of about 5 to 10 Cmdrs. I don't try to wing in to @drew 's since he is UK and I am US. I just go where the server load balancer places me.

I have a different opinion on the Salome saga.... though I wasn't there so my opinion is based on what I have read. I felt he did a great job and accomplished something in Open play that no one had ever done before and may never happen again. I would have liked Salome to have succeeded but that's not how it played out. It is a chapter of this game that is forever etched into it's history. I have read the forums on much of it and the Salome saga is about as divisive as politics... maybe even worse. :p

...

So... to nudge it back to "The Quest to Find Raxxla" and keep the flow of the current mentions of @drew and the Lore Tour:

Will anything we don't know get revealed? Probably not. It may bring more people to the hunt. I am surprised how many Cmdrs I meet that don't know anything about Raxxla or even heard the name.
But I will have fun in the Tour as I always make my own fun while in it.

Drew has already stated he doesn't know where it is; that the information was kept on lockdown from the Kickstarter days. He could maybe inadvertently have some info but after all these years I'm sure the folks in this thread have tried it.

At any rate I have enjoyed the previous ones and so I'll def watch either live or when the VOD airs on YouTube.

Will anything be revealed that we don't know? I doubt it but saying that I'm not entirely sure of we know and what we don't know at this point. This thread is huge and bloated with a thousand ideas and "leads", it's hard to know what we have exhausted and what could possibly be an actual lead
He doesn't know anything more than us, but he is knowledgeable. If anything it might spark more interest from other players, or people could have some revelations from how he presents what is "known."

agreed we probably wont learn anything new as he doesn't know anything as it was off-limits or covered by an NDA. What he does know does interest me, how DB & MB introduced stuff into the game working with the authors for example, to me it gives insight into how or what Raxxla can be, not necessarily where it is.

2 hours of total speculation and tinfoil Im looking forward to, 90 mins of fdev bashing will leave me annoyed, to coin a phrase 'It could be so much better' and maybe its because Ive been on a few expeditions that are better organised so my expectations are higher. I too do my own thing, I just wish there was enough there to keep me occupied without having to do my own thing, Id like to be involved in what we are doing not just listening. Moan over, like I said I still want it to be great as it could bring a whole lot of players into the lore and the game including people I know in RL and in game, negativity wont attract them or make the game better.

Slightly off topic but the thread that tries to find out what system the DW station is in based on the Codex screenshot has taken an interesting turn of late.

ould you mind

would you mind posting the thread link?

One thing from Drew's stream that caught my attention was from someone in chat they posted what I can only assume is a quote from something, I haven't gotten around to looking into it just yet but I copied it from there...

I said thine eyes were stars, thy breast the milk'n way, Thy fingers Cupid's shafts, thy voice the angels' lay : And all I said so well, as no man it denied.

I read this and thought of the Mother of Galaxies line from the toast, that line about the burning jewel has always struck me, maybe something to do with Gaia as in Greek myth. I searched for Gaia on the GM and it returned a system with a totally different name, Flesk, when I Googled it I got results for a Scandinavian word for bacon... so that was a dead end. The quote above though could be interesting, I'm going to look into it

UPDATE It's an old sonnet referenced before, ASTROPHEL AND STELLA, nothing new, stand down
