As always mouse, you are also blinded by your PVP hatred and missed the entire essence of that post.

Maybe go back and find the context in which it was written.

So if you can call PVP players Jerks, what can I refer to non PVP players in that wont have you running to report my posts?

So you don't play games to get better??

Really? So you are still in your Sidewinder with class E modules? Surely you must be?

So you are not a better player even if your little gated community than you were the day you started? Still in Eravate?

No, you Will and Have improved!

IF you had played against harder targets, you would have improved faster and be a better player even if you DIDN'T want to get better.
( Which is a little weird, if you don't want to improve yourself )

I 100% bet that you couldn't kill me If you were in an A Rated Conda and I was in a standard Sidewinder.
Why because I would have seen you coming a mile off, because I learnt in Open what to look for.

Because words seem to escape you, I will elaborate slightly

Some times you will lose!
Losing is good!
You learn from it.

Next time you will do something different to stop the same thing happening again.

That is improving.

You should try it, Upgrade that Sidewinder and see what else you can get better at.

Maybe reading posts before the one you reference so that it isn't taken out of context. There is a great skill.

That someone is getting better while playing the Game does not mean one does play to get better. Its just a sideeffect.

And what does it matter that someone 100% can not kill you if he not cares to kill you?

Getting better in this game, as far as my thousands of hours in Open, come down to those that I have come across:

1. Running in a Wing
2. Having 1 more health potion than the other guy
3. Find something in the game that gives them an 'edge', this never includes 'piloting skills'
4. If that fails often enough...well, let's just say...other options are available.

I have played with some stand up PvP players, repping for any number of player groups....however, most of the random players I have come across have 'improved themselves' with the above methods.

For PvP players I am happy that CQC is coming out Soon™...as it will give them a balanced place to go and 'grow their skills'. I just do not see the above as 'skillful'.

I enjoy PvP...honestly, I do. I just do not call what we have a good implementation...and have accepted that this is all we are going to get.

I also understand that this IS a design choice...as the game...and all it's contests are PvE based. I suggest everyone get on board that idea...it also is not changing.

My suggestion is honestly, learn to play the game we have. There is lots of meaningful PvP...you just have to accept how you achieve your goals.

I have no problem with taste in most cases, it's just in this case, the food isn't any good. It's also taunting how they include a sample of the better meal that could have been.

If you are unhappy with the food, you don't eat it...nor do you try to get the manufacturer to change the formulation.

Why try that here...particularly when it is exactly the same issue?

There is no such thing as aggressor, victim roles. Per se.

Its about strong vs weak, smarts and choice.

I have traded in a T6, I have been interdicted and I have gotten away.

Seeing as the T6,T7 seems to be seen at the cattle class trading ship, you need to know their strengths and weaknesses.

You also need to be smart enough to work out if you are in a position you cannot win and do your best to not be in that position in the first place.

When I flew my T6, I knew I had to be fast and I could get mass locked by anything bigger than a Cobra.
I also knew I could outrun most Asps, Pythons and Condas with a little help from silent running and heatsinks.

If I saw an Asp or clipper jump into the system I was in, I would look at is subsystems. Decide if it was a threat and then react.

I used this until I could afford an Asp and then traded in that, upgraded to a clipper and traded in that until I went 100% Piracy.

I also avoided the known dangerous spots, which is pretty freaking easy when I was doing grind trading. Some of the MOST boring days of gaming ever.

So did I fly a weak ship yes, did I let myself become a victim... No..

Did I lose a few times.. Yes.

Did I run to solo at any point... NEVER!

Now that I am flying in around in fighting ships, I still know when I am at a disadvantage and still will never be a victim. Even when I lose!

This echo's my own Elite gaming experience with the exception of going full pirate, which I never did. I still trade, still BH and still do everything in open, I just pick wisely where in open that is. I used to joke with Tigga on his twitch that only greedy traders get pirated in open, those that are on rare routes running unsheilded get what they deserve to be honest. No matter where you are though you will at some point bump into a Majinvash or a Cmdr X that wants your stuff but that's Elite.

I use attempts on my Elite life as a means to do something different, so i'll go and grab the FDL or the python and go looking for them and its actually harder to find them than you think.

Um Don't people try to do that exact same thing? And sometimes the manufacturer actually listens.

In this case, they won't. Just like adding meat to a meatless product will not occur.
In this case there's already meat in it. It's more like asking a company that makes spaghetti and meatball to just focus on meatballs. Not unreasonable imo since the spaghetti is subpar and the meatballs are good but under proportioned.

Solo players don't want open players bothering them in THEIR game, fine.
Open players don't want solo players bothering them in THEIR game EITHER.

Solo players out of open please.
Separate universes NOW.

so if i am not improving my combat skills then i am an idiot and playing the game wrongly.
not a question, a statement.

if i am enjoying the game without fighting then it is right and proper to kill me over and over to teach me to enjoy it my part in these "player interactions".

if my way of considering that i am doing better is by how many combat encounters i can escape from without being destroyed then i am playing the game wrongly, and a coward to boot.

if the way i want to play the game is to run around and min/max profit margins trading, then it is fitting and proper that i am considered prey as the gutless wimp/sheep/soft target that i am.

and these are how i play in solo or group or open.

allot of what the "i am killing all you cowardly wimps for fun and i don't understand why you say you don't enjoy it" group says about players like me are insulting and demeaning.

yet if i were to make insulting or demeaning comments about the "i am killing all you cowardly wimps for fun and i don't understand why you say you don't enjoy it", i would get a warning and my post deleted and to talk about the warning or deletion would be a forum violation, so i wouldn't.

so it seems that the "i am killing all you cowardly wimps for fun and i don't understand why you say you don't enjoy it" are getting allot of slack to allow them to say what they want to say.

i could guess that the reason for that is that it is so obvious that they're not intelligent enough to understand anything other than violence as fun and they need consideration for their lack of ability to communicate coherently without copious insults.
but i won't say that as it would be just me abusing the anonymity of the internet to insult these intellectually challenged people.

no offense intended.

So you don't play games to get better??.....

I choose and play games that require very little in the way "effort" or "work" - as I play games to relax and be sociable with real life friends.

After spending most of my working life dealing with the public, my down time is reserved for people I know and not for every moron / idiot and reason for birth control that wants to interrupt me.
This is the same reason I never played on any public Freelancer servers - I ran my own, with a password, that I only loaded up when I was playing with friends, then shut down again when we were done.

My time, is mine. Not yours.
I play for me, not you.

You pay me £30,000+ per annum, new purpose built gaming PC, an office to play in, travel expenses.
For 40 hours per week (20 days holiday a year + bank holidays). I'll be your content in Open.

Deal?

I can't see where you clarified anything. Open is just open. It has no value over Group, or Solo. Do you stand by your statement that players use solo because they lack skill? That is what you should clarify. That open is how the game was intended is just wrong, but that skills nonsense is where I insist you insulted a sizable portion of our fellow players.
I was trying to explain that playing in Open mode requires a different understanding and set of skills than Solo.
I was not attempting to comment on the abilities of others, I'm not sure how I can make this anymore clear.

...Ergo: MP (which was the intention) not specifically open mode due to the emphasized part above.
I was trying to state that the poster was playing the 'Open mode' the way it was intended, not playing 'Elite: Dangerous' the way it was intended

Again all I can do is apologize for any misunderstanding of my words, but this is a very complex topic to discuss in the medium of text where the subtle nuances of meaning are difficult to convey.

But that is not an apt description of what you purchased. You bought a meatless product, with a representation of meat in it. You do not like the meatless product....and are demanding they put meat into it. They have stated from the beginning of this product that this was the way they wanted it.

Sorry...but this is not going to occur.

But, you CAN keep tilting at your windmill....enjoy! Just know you are doing it because you are enjoying the process....not because you are going to bring about any change to the way the game is written or played!

The game does have meat(pvp), in it. I enjoy a fair amount of pvp in the game. It's not particularly balanced or plentiful, but it's certainly not absent. Now with CQC the devs are adding more meat, just the wrong kind imo.

CQC is still meat - what seems to have happened is that all the salads and sides have been removed from the table in that room.
