CQC players will gain risk free PvP experience at the same time as, it would seem, credits for use in the main game.
No risk credit earning? That'll blow the risk-versus-reward advocates minds!

No risk PvP combat skills learning too! Ho-hum!No risk credit earning?
I still don't think they'll be that similar, there won't be much bleed over in open. No shield cells, hopefully, no escaping, it's own weapon and ship balance. Hard to compare the two. Different fighting styles, different metas, different game mechanics, I can't imagine it will translate well. While CQC will only have small ships, we are told that there is nothing as unpredictable and challenging as another player in combat. With that in mind, CQC players will gain risk free PvP experience at the same time as, it would seem, credits for use in the main game. Flying a large ship against NPCs in Solo would probably prepare a player less for combat in Open than playing CQC would, in my opinion.
Indifferent, I guess. Then again idk anything about cqc yet. It could be cheap, or not, hard to tell atm.Possibly.
But whether true or not how does that answer the question: "how do the open advocates feel about ships bought and paid for, from CQC cash being used in open?"

FD - Evil Genius or Troll skillz level 10. You decide.
(P.S. look this is no way serious, it's tongue in cheek, a bit of humour okay - especially you FD, you scare me.)
Not sure how some folks will explain being in two places at once![]()
Confused a bit on this one.
Bring an Annaconda into open which was earned in solo or group = bad...
Now we have people who are going to be bringing assets into open who have done nothing but polish their pew pew. Is that bad too, or okay because their was shooting involved along the way?
Dammit Relayer...was going to rep you for this...and got told to spread it around.

<grins> Not bad!Did I do that right?
You do know it is the same game, right?
It is still Elite: Dangerous, and it is effectively a new "mode" where you can go, away from Open Mode to earn credits that can be used in Solo / Group / Open.

So you face no loss on death and wins will pay you credits.
And people call Solo "easy mode", at least in solo if you die for any reason, you suffer the insurance loss. CQC won't even have that.
Lets see if open advocates want to stick with "it's called *DANGEROUS*" arguments when you have no death penalties, and you're in no danger of any form of loss - but yet the gains / benefits can be used in Open Mode.
/Satire hat on;
I think any cash earned in CQC should stay in CQC - after all, wouldn't want any person using an "easy mode" to buy ships in to Open mode out of "easy mode" cash then use them for griefing purposes, do we?
Especially when I can do nothing to stop them earning credits when I'm playing in Open mode - that is unfair isn't it, not making people earn their money in Open mode that will be used in Open mode.
/Satire hat off

<grins wolfishly>...don't lend it to Cody, look at his Cobra pic!
CQC
Close Quarters Carebears?
Does anyone know if we are we allowed to call it "easy mode", "cheat mode", "safe mode" or use insults like "hiding in CQC", "scared of a real fight in open" or "cowards" yet? or should we wait for the launch, sorry I don't have a lot of experience in the forum etiquette relating to insulting others![]()
