I know it goes against forum doctrine to like anything SC related, but that's a good looking Industrial ship.

I agree - it "looks" the part :)
One thing CIG have been successful at time and time again is getting good visuals (though often questionable in terms of function)

Well... iconic in lore it may be. It depends of the story of SC...

I'll concede the point that in the SC fiction, the Caterpillar is viewed as "Iconic" by the Citizens, yes. [up]

To be frank, why would changelogs of Evocati have to be NDAed I don't know. It is one thing CIG can show without spoiling what's coming up.

Everything is under the veil of secrecy just because ain´t working as expected,I ensure you if SM was working good enough even with lower 8Vs8 numbers we could not live in here from Fanatics and their bragging how it is glorious,epic,unique...iconic..

I think the ship interiors look really nice, with lots to look at. Perhpas a bit confused in style but definitely full of ideas, borrowed or not. Most of the cockpits in ED could really do with some love and I hope that when walking about is introduced, that all the cockpits get a bit of polish on the design so they can make the whole interior good throughout the ship.

I have to say ED cockpits are very good for initial outing, considering that you can't even look behind your back without mocking around with settings/special devices. I also expect them to improve as we move forward.

As for SC interiors - they are best part of the updates so far (glorified ship browser as many say) :)

I just hope they do not change visibility since its very good for all ships

But I really do not like SC ship cockpit visibility, like this one:

All those struts messing with view from cockpit = terrible..

A little quote and a video from the subreddit(Starcitizen_Leaks):
Also, I've noticed a couple of changes in this build:
  • You can now hear your heartbeat while outside a pressurized area, it's very subtle but due to the lack of other sounds you can clearly hear it.
  • Foot steps sounds in 1st person have been greatly improved, there's a bigger difference now when walking inside and outside pressurized areas.
  • Damien station lighting and enviroment has been improved quite a bit, you can now see floating dust particles in certain areas.
  • Glass shattering system has been improved again, it takes more damage to fully destroy a window

"Cool" and "iconic" are debatable, CIG's designs were always painfully generic.

They do seem a little "fussy", if that makes sense. Look at car design. Strong profiles are the thing, with the most iconic designs being those that have a strong unified aesthetic.

I don't really get that from SC ships, the vibe I get is a collection of features that have been put together to form a ship rather than a recognisable basic silhouette with details filled out within that context.

I wonder if CIG have spoken to any product designers?

I supposed that is because is a way of know possible leakers, it seems that these patch notes had some things changed in every tester so if someone leaked they would know who it was very easily. At least something like that was rumored some days back.

But who knows...

If that's true it means a few things.

The leaks are real, without any doubt at all.

Derek's right about the leaked stuff.

CiG/RSI are wasting time and backer cash on a mole-hunt, but they've done it so badly that people know about it.

CIG/RSI must be an incredibly toxic place with all the friction and internal distrust this type of thing causes.

Unsymmetrical designs, especialy ones where the thrust obviously doesn't align with the centre of gravity annoy me to no end. The Mustang was a huge nail in the coffin for those claims of correctly modeled physics.

Worst thing is that they actually are trying (or was this now dropped?) to model the thrust accordingly to the physical model - therefore the crappy FM.

Agreed. I wouldn't have as much of an opinion about the asymmetry in the ship designs if it wasn't for the (often smugly) repeated claims of an accurate rigid body physics simulation.

The only SC ship with anything like a a nice, recognizable shape is the 300 series IMO.

Is this supposed to be impressive? It isn't even looking remotely realistic or different than any generic glass shattering in any game that has glass destruction.

It looks glitchy as heck :(

Glass shattering looks like something from 3 years ago. Though hard to understand what's the point of shattering. I thought they should withstand such damage. Why then they are there? Just for decoration?
