The Star Citizen Thread v5

That makes no sense I'm afraid. How can black market sales increase backers when both parties have to be backers in the first place?

They dont. Only purchased ships in the RSI store does. Grey market is a small market mostly used within orgs in my experience. The increased backer numbers you see are new ships sells thru the RSI site. Although I speculate that that number is not 100% correct if it includes all ships sold on RSI site that includes ship upgrades. But thats a whole other subject.

My voice has obviously been heard, and you've answered. How does popping on over to RSI's stasi style criticism free hugbox effect that ?.

This recks of millennial nonsnese about the current voting process.

@slickreed So we have defending P2W mechanics in a game that isn't free to play and has ships costing over $1000? Regardless of the fact that it was sold as not P2W? Star Conflict is a F2P game so the comparison is invalid along with the fact that their is nothing being sold for ridiculous amounts of money that isn't even in the game.

The mention of the grey market was a slip up, you mention basically using it to buy low from CIG and sell high. That means you have a vested interest in pumping the product you are selling, product fails you are left with a bag of useless jpegs. This whole thing reeks of ponzi at this point, I've seen crypto mining schemes with less red flags attached.

Joking aside - the IRS / HMRC are not people whom you want to be stuffing you into their lulzbucket.

In the US additional income outside of your primary job has to reach a certain threshold to be considered substantial. Furthermore the grey market shows up like this... You send money to someone thru paypal for no reason....... on RSI you receive a gifted ship........congrats.

'millenial nonsense'. 'Liberal nonsense'. Is adding random groups of people before the word 'nonsense' some kind of argument where you live?

He doesn't argue in good faith, don't bother

Thats an extreme "tunnel vision" view on P2W. FTP does not limit the amount of money people are will to spend on a video game.

I haven't read through the argument yet but how buying giant multicrew battleship in SC isnt P2W? Normal player corp will have to gring their bottoms out to be able to afford it - by getting it now for some 2000 bucks you have instant access to a huge advantage right from the start.

Ah, I didn't realize you were an unsuccessful grey market trader. All the risk none of the profit.

I agree, its just interesting the lengths SC backers go to in order to justify more money being pumped into a $140 million game thats 2 years late and was supposed to cost less than half that. If you work the grey market you have zero credibility in your arguments IMO.

I thought this is a Star Citizen discussion? not sure why I keep seeing an argument brought up in this thread. Are you not capable of having a discussion with someone that doesn't share your point of view?

3 ships out of 20 wouldn't make me a trader, more of a skimmer :)

The whole idea of a grey market for ships in a game yet to be released is off putting to me. RSI shouldn't have created a system where that was possible, yet apparently it's now their primary source of income despite having raised $130-140m ? I have generally disagreed with people who do have an agenda counter-course with Star Citizen, but hats the sort of thing that pushes anyone slightly skeptical of the advertising claims away. Fake scarcity and pressure sales in an unreleased video game? It reaks. I'm still watching to see if it develops into a game I want to play. I'm certain it will develop into a game, I think DS is being wishful by hoping for a collapse before they get something out... but if what they get out is buggy,,heavily scripted, and narrow I don't want to be one of its supporters. It's certainly not the money. I could have jumped in with what..$35 dollars Friday? But I don't like the idea of paying a swimming pool entrance fee and then floating around in raw sewage, regardless of how low the fee is.

Well I wish the best of luck to you supporters, and I genuinely hope you are validated in the end. I bought Astroneers instead this weekend.

In that case, I'm afraid it's a case of you being offended, not their character choices being offensive. Because I got the exact opposite vibe from that roster or characters.

Oh good, that's alright then. The objective mix of ethnicities and skin clours doesn't matter because you personally don't feel it's a problem. I'm glad we have you as an objective touch stone who can tell when everybody is being properly represented. A social conservative white male will help us determine when things are equal and fairly represented. Case closed.

Yes that's exactly the kind of drivel I was referring to [up]. Go to google image search put together a line up of gender, ethnicity and skin tones that you'd consider acceptable to your internet feelings and show us you can do it better than FD (or indeed if you can't).

Demonstrate how to do it properly (in your opinion) or shut up. You are complaining for the sake of complaining.

Whoosh. No point in wasting any more time on you. Off to the ignore list you go.
