LOL I like that analogy - it's like Lost where they dragged it on so much that the ending made no sense whatsoever and they lost 70% of their viewers.

Well that is because people figured out how it was going to end after the first year. Funny how it works for talking about Lost or SC.

Greetings Citizen.

After a successful trip to the UK studio, I’m now at the Frankfurt offices working with the team and, while I’d love to share what they’ve been working on, I don’t want to take away from their studio update on next week’s ATV. I think you’ll be just as excited by all their progress as I am.

As you may already know, the 2.6.2 update was released to the Evocati and the first two waves of the PTU this week. The feedback we’ve received from all the dedicated backers has been immensely helpful. It’s brought to light some networking issues that we’re continuing to sort out, so thanks for submitting bugs to the Live Spectrum Feedback Channel. Gathering and replicating these bugs is essential so the CIG team can fix issues and get 2.6.2 into the hands of everyone as soon as possible. One item that we snuck into this patch is an eagerly awaited addition to Drake Interplanetary: the Buccaneer. We kept this bit a surprise up until the Evocati release, since we weren’t sure how well the untested ship would fly. Thankfully, the feedback on the latest addition to the Drake lineup has been promising.

Lastly, I’m set to talk at the GamesBeat Summit on May 2. Though we’re still fleshing out all the details, the theme for this year’s summit is “How Games, Sci-fi and Tech Create Real-World Magic.” Rich Hilleman from Amazon Game Studios will be joining me at the event in Berkeley, CA. I’ll keep you posted about as the event draws closer, but in the meantime, you can check out their line up here.

Garbage framerates.

That's realism and fidelity for you ;) It's a shame to let Genuine Robert's masterpiece whizz by you at over 30FPS - to fully appreciate it you have to scrutinize every detail in the slideshow as it is paraded before your eyes, like a heavenly vision of perfection, at a glorious and cinematic 24 seconds per frame.

That guy is more persistent than persistent universe in SC.

I think he really hates the game. :) Twice he measures the framerate. 22fps the first time then 18fps a bit later. He has a good setup too. The head bob is vomit inducing. VR will never come to Star Citizen.

LOL hanging on like a dog with a bone huh? Frankly until it has genuinely failed, it is all still speculation. My observation is that with the time that they are taking they're making their publicity job that much harder, ultimately even the faithful will walk away for a time and that will potentially cause the funding to be a great deal harder to achieve. My point is that they may still get 'something' out but it will potentially not make sense in the original form or reach the scope that people were hoping for. Applying wisdom to the situation sitting back and watching it play out makes a great deal more sense than either remaining blindly faithful or conversely burning the game before it is even out.

I guess, he is well paid to be persistent by CIG ;)
I watch him time to time and I find hard to believe that he really enjoys playing SM all the time or PU that runs at 15-20 fps...
Looks like SM can suffer fate of Elite's Area mode - almost nobody plays it lately even on public servers...

Slightly better viewer count (28) than framerate. [haha]

You are looking at wrong streamer...His viewer count is about 200 he is not bad streamer, but how he can endure playing SC all that time is beyond my understanding...only explanation he is been paid by CIG...

He went on Spectrum begging for more players. At the time I posted he had 28 viewers.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the rumours about Amazon's involvement are true, and thanks to some funds and pressure from their side we will see something usable this year and an MVP around the end of 2018. The MVP as lampshaded recently, where the developer responsible for cargo interaction has responded to a question about the old design document with "I didn't write it, so...", and either him or someone else have described the first iteration of cargo system as being reduced to an interaction with a terminal which does nothing but increase a number on a HUD somewhere with no physical representation. So, a little simpler than ED.

Would have to be an actual game in order to burn it. What we can and have been doing for years is judge CIG on the work they produce in the time frame they produce it in. Anyone can produce a bad game, that is not really something to look forward too. Facts are that the evidence of CIG incompetence has been around for years, since the release of the hangar module to the delay of the Dogfighting module.

Many of the people in this thread used to be crazy pro CIG, ignoring all the criticism and problems. It has been funny to watch those people turn negative about the project and then start calling others faithful.

hey, looks like 2.6.2 is in the PTU... I'm actually going to download it... I have an itch to try the 'buck...
12 minutes download...

LOL. Nobody wants to play.

You sure? I checked in and watched for a while....of course nothing happened, it was more like a chat room for big boys with animated screens. Saurus was just running this way and that without doing anything really BUT he claimed to run at 102 frames....thats for arena commander I guess tho. Sounds legit?

LOL and at another time when he changes to PU he immediatly gets 22 frames by standing still not doing anything. Also they dont do anything for HOURS now because there are not enough people on.......

Not to worry though, there's always 3.0 to save the 'verse. Or whatever number is flavour of the month when that one doesn't work.
