Roberts is the David Brent of the game world. When they make the mockumentary of this, I want him to be played by Johnny Vegas.
Nah man Vegas is a poor fit. Peter kaye though now that seems a bit closer.

Idris Elba has the gravitas to play Derek.

"As you may already know, the 2.6.2 update was released to the Evocati and the first two waves of the PTU this week. The feedback we’ve received from all the dedicated backers has been immensely helpful. It’s brought to light some networking issues that we’re continuing to sort out, so thanks for submitting bugs to the Live Spectrum Feedback Channel. Gathering and replicating these bugs is essential so the CIG team can fix issues and get 2.6.2 into the hands of everyone as soon as possible. One item that we snuck into this patch is an eagerly awaited addition to Drake Interplanetary: the Buccaneer. We kept this bit a surprise up until the Evocati release, since we weren’t sure how well the untested ship would fly. Thankfully, the feedback on the latest addition to the Drake lineup has been promising."
2.6.2 is knackeredand, we're snowed under with bug reports but we dont give a rat´s rear and will release it, bugs and all, CR´s mythical polish demands be unblessed, so we can offer some semblant of progress. Networking in particular is even worse than usual. We've crow-barred in another ship for you to buy, don't expect it to work properly as we rushed it through. But buy it immediately, sorry I meant donate no refunds. All the other backers have already bought it if you don't you'll be regarded as space poor on reddit or miss out or something.
I hope this is ECC RAM.

That's an even poorer fit....
A human thumb should suffice for the role methinks....
Client is already downloaded and installed.
THat's system sitting at 3 black screens - while RSI sends me - if my logs are correct and there's nothing bizarre going on - yet another copy of the game into the game - as absolutely none of the drives are busy.
Whatever it is - it's enough for now.

Too many people on these forums expect 3.0 to be some end game that they can play. We're a long (years) long, long way away from playing.
The waiting does suck and for older guys (I'm oldish too) you do have to wonder if you'll ever see the end. But hey....the journey has been......interesting at least.

Star Citizen: Don't worry about the finished game, you'll be dead.

Yeah, but I think a lot of the 3.0 hype is from sir roberts himself-- they've been putting a ton of emphasis on 3.0-- much of people's expectations have been driven by what they are saying. To be honest, I'm expecting something big^tm myself... if not, I may just re-shelf SC, and play ED until I get bored with the grind again.

Just saying, because going over 8-16 GB RAM without ECC means asking for silent data corruption. I wouldn't trust a rig with 128 GB of unbuffered memory. In my servers, yes. In my consumer-grade rigs - no chance

A very valid point, but as this particular rig is only used for entertainment and can be re-imaged in just a few minutes it's not a huge concern - but yes I completely agree with you.
Star Citizen just displaying black screens and gobbling insane amounts of memory and bandwidth is a huge concern
What is also interesting in all discussions in Reddit or at CIG is that the vast majority really believes the game "will take as long as it takes" to get made right, as per expectations. No one seems to grasp or open up to the mere possibility (the most likely imo) that CIG will actually release much earlier than expected, weather in gold or early access, something deeply cut down from those promises. It s like CR statements about the MVP had been deleted from the community consciousness altogether.
