It's a simple case of saying; I'm in for that AVATAR / SIGN Bet that [ YES / NO ]

"Star Citizen will have the wholly trinity of gaming with seamless: MultiCrew-EVA-FPS-Solar System-Procedural Planets-Planetary Landing before any other Game out-here.
That includes all the existing ones and the others to come: EvE, Elite, NMS, COD, Mass-Effect, Star Wars: Battlefront, Evochron, Limit Theory, Everspace you name it."

I called it, anyone following suit or not this all charade is registered anyway, beauty of interwebs. ;)

Not sure if pointed out already. I believe you'll find Space Enginers already ticks all your boxes... and then some.

If you look at the video which supposedly shows wrongdoing, at about the 2:00 minute mark, you can see anything (any name you want) can be put in there. The video is clearly edited (as you can see from the removed personal information). So anyone taking a break in video recording at around timestamp 00:25 (after logging in) can put just about anything they like into it (especially into the Organization or Description drop down menu).

Total fabrication....nice try!

*Pffft!* Really? That's the best you can do?

Offering up the classic "it's a fake!" and "move along, nothing to see here!" defence that anybody who has been on a newspaper forum for any amount of time sees when a powerful organization or government is caught doing something blatantly wrong/illegal, and these sock puppet accounts opened the day that story emerged flood the forums with the same message to distract and derail commenting on the subject at hand.

The very FACT that CiG felt the need to not only shutdown the forum post on the RSI site talking about this within minutes of it showing up, but have now shutdown the customer service site completely as well, is PROOF of what they did! If they weren't in the wrong, they would be confident enough to keep things as they were and not feel the need to perform such blatant damage control.

Come on, that's even weaker than the usual stuff trotted out by you and your buddies in defending the indefensible!

Must be just a coincidence that they changed the website today - first thing this morning US time eh?

:D

Goodness gracious, great balls of shade.

:D

This thread has got me thinking. I should wait on going for my MBA until after all this CIG dust settles. Will make an excellent case study, succeed or fail. LOL

Gamescom is 72 days away. What might we see of Star Citizen at that point? I know I'm going to expect a mostly stable first mission demo of Squadron 42. If not, well, it may be time to move on for me.

They'll promise a few unrealistic things they'll cut later on, throw out another ship concept sale, and show some sq42 trailer with said ship in it to milk the whales.

@Deedrix, are you based in the EU? Because the 14 day thing applies after delivery of what you have paid for, which is the completed product (which SC is anything but), not *when* you paid.

If they're going to insist on calling them "pledges", maybe also ask why they charge VAT on them, since I don't think a satisfactory answer has ever been provided...

You've had to click a little box saying this:
You acknowledge that the game is currently in development. Parts of the game are made available in alpha versions for your testing and feedback. Naturally, alpha releases will have bugs and other deficiencies. We encourage community feedback but the final game design decisions rest solely with us as developer. Any deficiencies of alpha releases, or any game design decisions may not be considered a breach of our obligations, and will not entitle you to a refund.
pretty sure that's been around since 1.0 but in a much shorter version.

As for the VAT, all digital goods have to be charged with VAT and it being a called a pledge doesn't matter, VAT has to be charged at the time of purchase, although I would like to see what would happen if this argument was taken to court.

It's the same with having an import tax on memory cards, a blank memory card and you'll get charged for the memory card only.

A memory card with a game preloaded will cost you more as the value of the card is higher.

I know its not a direct comparison but both systems are messed up.

Monk, CiG have no other choice but to absolutely nail whatever their presentation is going to be at Gamescon, especially with whatever the fallout is from the massive reveal trailer of Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be at E3, you know, that tiny, insignificant (sorrynotsorry!) event that's *only* for the pleb classes and those Eeeevil [TM] publishers, not the exalted class of the truly unique, cavalier, buccaneering, free-from-the-shackles-of-corporate-bigwigs, CiG.... ;)

That, along with other presentations from games that are going to be directly competing with either Star Citizen or Squadron 42's position in the space game genre, is likely to put even more pressure on the programmers and coders, who are already struggling to get basic features in the PTU to work without bugging out repeatedly, along with the lack of anything tangible to see with SQ42 since late last year.

Remove all the Star Citizen stuff and I can't not even put into words how elated I am for the return of the space genre...Now, if EA could just take the rights to LucasArts and sell it to a decent developer to make a new TIE Fighter game, I might melt into a puddle of pure joy.

This is what I mean by moving on though...there is so much coming down the pipe that all the hype for Star Citizen might drown once the press starts cranking its gears.

I have a waning hope for Star Citizen to succeed. More and more disheartened and disappointed every day. (At least I have ED which still gives me hours of fun whenever I get into it)

This is coming out tomorrow and is fairly cheap.

We may have pure joy puddles on the horizon. I've talked to a few guys at Lucasfilm's immersive entertainment lab and they are DYING to do an X-Wing/Tie Fighter project. It's discussed all the time, apparently. Oh man.

yeah! I saw a bit of this on twitch this morning...looks nice and tight while also being the fly by the seat of your pants space fighter game that I was hoping Star Citizen would be, years ago. And, as I see it, no need to rebind your keys to make it enjoyable ;)

Don't you tease me damnit...you don't want to know what happens when...uh oh...

My heart fills with fuzzy warm wubblies at the thought of blasting filthy rebel scum to unidentifiable chunks in a TIE Interceptor - in cinema-quality rendering, in VR and HOTAS.

Forget all the nonsense, forget those utterly atrocious Rogue Squadron games, just please, please do TIE fighter the way it was always meant to be done :)

Please, please let it be so :)

Oh God yes! That would be the best thing ever.

But it's EA so...
