LOL! I was referring more about Planetary landings, multi crew, etc. etc. for those annoying post like "There's so much MORE stuff to do in SC Alpha than all the others released AAA+ titlez!"
Well, there's no point to counter their subjective feelings about ED. You can point out things you enjoy in ED, describing them in detail. As for measuring contests it is really pointless..."feature lists" my backside. I enjoy ED. They enjoy SC.
They're probably trying to figure out how to handle the revelation that they have a lot of PG in their maybe-eventual-but-kind-of-planned-game.

As much as the SC acolytes hate this thread, they sure have done a great job of elevating it into relevance.I saw a few comments flying past on the live stream about this thread
It's the Smart Syndrome™: the inability to stop making someone/something relevant by a compulsion to scream loudly about how irrelevant they're supposed to be.
Are you suprised? They even elevated Derek Smart to unseen highs to the point where many people cant talk against SC without being associated as a alt of Derek Smart. Hell he even has his own stalking reddit sub-forum...
Oddly enough if they'd been able to communicate civilly in the same forum as Derek without lashing out they wouldn't all be banned. So they not only make the thread much more visible, but they ensure that it's one sided.
Bit of an own goal there chaps.

Yet even that subreddit only does selective "archiving." For instance, not everything he does in relation to SC is put into that thread (comparing their topics with what Derek's tweeted over the past week alone - which is quite a bit). It depends on whether or not it fits their narrative. If it reflects negatively on what they are doing (I'm not sure how that's possible for a "non-hate sub, dedicated solely to archiving"), or shows clear evidence, it is somehow omitted.
So it's relatively relevant. They hate this thread. They despise that anyplace would be free to voice dissent about this precious project. It's why the archive links to game sites as an attempt to strangle direct traffic. It's why a small group of people were kicked out of these forums (not just this thread). And it's why we now have a reputation threshold here before people can post.
They are the very reason why they cannot have nice things. Well, that and upper management at CIG/RSI seem to be lacking.

How can anyone hate a thread that exists purely for entertaining laughs and giggles, and speculation on what CIG are going to release next?
Have you played SC in its current state? Entertainment, laughs, and fun (in general) are not things the SC community seems to enjoy.

because I (naively) want unbiased "information" about the game, that's why I pop into the thread every so often, but it's like a bunch of 18 year olds in the pub for the first time getting rat and spouting nonsense.
Believe it or not I want the meaningful criticism, but it's just getting a bit silly, and as I said (despite getting a warning from mods for some reason) a pointless thread.
