And well, would an Imperial nobleman do so anyways, even if it was not bannable offense?Abusive comms are a banable offense.
What you mean is you want to be able to share an instance with other players but be invulnerable to their interdictor/weapons even though you have the option to go elsewhere. If I simply do not want to play with you. Or don't care about getting serial interdicted, and so on. Reasonz, you know.
Thats the beauty of the block. I do not share an instance with blocked player(s). Also going elsewhere is not always an option, unless I want to take fines and rep hit for abandoning mission....What you mean is you want to be able to share an instance with other players but be invulnerable to their interdictor/weapons even though you have the option to go elsewhere.
It’s not “my gameplay”. Frontier established the TOS which allow me to destroy player ships in Open.No more selfish than those who choose to impose their gameplay on others with scant regard for whether, or not, the target has any "fun".
And it gave tools to block you from doing so against any player who wish to use those tools. It’s not “my gameplay”. Frontier established the TOS which allow me to destroy player ships in Open.
As mentioned, they also included the block feature to allow players to excise those whom they do not wish to play with from their multi-player experience in either applicable game mode - and the block feature has only ever been made more effective and easier to use over the years. It’s not “my gameplay”. I’m not against Block or Solo or Private. If you don’t want me to wreck your ship then disappear. I really don’t care. But OP is talking about specifically disabling PvP interactions. That’s just not in the spirit of the game and I’m glad Frontier has the sense to pass on such misguided suggestions. As mentioned, they also included the block feature to allow players to excise those whom they do not wish to play with from their multi-player experience in either applicable game mode - and the block feature has only ever been made more effective and easier to use over the years.
Op is talking about additional specific mode, basically Open mode without PVP, so modes would be Solo, PG, Open-PVE, Open. You would still have your unrestricted Open.I’m not against Block or Solo or Private. If you don’t want me to wreck your ship then disappear. I really don’t care. “Do you think that Open Play would be negatively affected if PVP could be disabled?” -OPOp is talking about additional specific mode, basically Open mode without PVP, so modes would be Solo, PG, Open-PVE, Open. You would still have your unrestricted Open.
Well pvp flag then. Easy peasy to separate pvp flagged people from non flagged when doing instancing.“Do you think that Open Play would be negatively affected if PVP could be disabled?” -OP
Nothing in there about a separate mode. He is talking about changing Open.
Would it be better if there was a separate Open-PvE mode available in the launcher instead of PvP-flagging in the single Open mode?I’m not against Block or Solo or Private. Any player in Open is (by design) fair game. Noobs, traders, explorers, Fuel Rats, PvPers. Everyone.Basically problem lies in couple of misconceptions and in Fdevs "solutions". Open is only mode that is not player capped, and default mode btw. Secondly not all people who go to open go there to get their fix of PVP gaming, they get there for co-op possibilities and so on. On other hand certain PVP'ers think anything is fair game. And that leads to a lots of bad feelings eventually on everybody.
Yes. IMO the OP suggestion of PvP flagging in Open is a bad idea, and the downsides have been clearly brought out in this thread. It can even be seen as "removing" PvP which some have suggested it amounts to. On the other hand, a separate Open-PvE mode is a brilliant idea which should satisfy almost everyone as it has no real downsides. I still think that FD will eventually be driven by "market forces" to one of these alternatives as it's the trajectory similar games have followed. I fervently hope they pick the right one.Would it be better if there was a separate Open-PvE mode available in the launcher instead of PvP-flagging in the single Open mode?
I don’t have a problem with that. I’m perfectly okay with letting Open Play mode (with PvP) live or die on its own without propping it up with players who don’t want to be there.Would it be better if there was a separate Open-PvE mode available in the launcher instead of PvP-flagging in the single Open mode?
