For some, the issue is that Frontier don't offer an Open PvE game mode for players who don't want to engage in PvP to be able to play co-operatively with other players without being bothered by those who can choose to shoot at anything they instance with in either of the multi-player game modes.I've also come to the conclusion that the problem many players have with the open mode is that by playing in open you consent to PvP combat..
Recent stats indicate that the vast majority of players don't get involved in PvP (which corroborates a statement by one Dev, some years ago), yet both multi-player game modes are PvP enabled.
