It used to defend tobacco against science in the past, now it's working assiduously to push climate change ignorance. It's evil personified.
But the really successful arm of their propaganda machine is Breitbart, which they also fund, and back with social media AI bots.
The main reason I'm aware of this is because they used MY island to test the AI before deploying it to work on behalf of Brexit.
If the average individual isn't aware of the directed multi-pronged cognitive assault that is going on, it's easy for disinformation to go through one's filters.
And over time, they start to simply repeat it.
Human cognition isn't reasonable or rational at all. It's modular and the modules function independently, and rapidly, below our level of consciousness.
Imagine it as a calculator- the numbers on the display are what we are conscious of, but the processes are opaque- we never actually see it add anything.
So it gives us output which we don't really understand: like racist bias, that everybody suffers from. Or fear of outsiders. Or self importance, needed for self-preservation.
It's when these functions get derepressed or run away that we develop mental illness- like Paranoia can be interpreted as a runaway self-importance module, so everything becomes self referential, coupled with runaway threat assessment.
What I'm trying to say, is that the brain hacks used by the agents of the industry are specifically geared to altering how we think at a basic level. They have new tools. And it works.

I'm trying to understand what this has to do with socialism? maybe you should read up on what it actually is, and not believe what people claim things are, it is often rather different? kinda like communism having gotten a bad rep, when no one ever really has been such, despite claims.

What you want is do whatever you desire, but that's for various reason can't work out for everyone.
For example they too have their rights, and obligations, and how most people interpreting freedom? I have the right to do whatever i desire even against others freedom and rights. The way i see? USA and it's people is just... Too uncaring towards others, and way too selfish to be the cop of the world what he want's to be and can to be, based on the power they have.
Well, I did read an interview with a Chavez voter from earlier this century (the predecessor of Maduro) and he said he wanted a social state like Norway, not a socialist state like Cuba. (It's a bit like Trumplings really .. they wanted to make murica grate again and have yet to realize they picked the wrong cheese)
Since Norway leads the human development index for years now, I found that a bit boring, so I googled for beautiful sights from their and our neighbor state (and Europe's biggest Bacon exporter) Denmark and lo and behold, up came the Dragon.
Having read all the Breitbart and being an expert tinfoil hatter, I came to the irrefutable conclusion that socialism ends in dragons. Q.E.D.

Both had less victims that democracy, and all of them had fewer victims than agriculture or sexual intercourse, which themselves pale in comparison to time.
I'm sure if the Third Reich had existed for a similar duration, they'd have killed way more people than the Soviets, Communist China, and North Korea combined. Not that the National Socialists you refer to were particularly socialist.
Being a US citizen doesn't dictate how you feel, just the political entity you were born or naturalized in to.
US citizens also aren't especially free from government interference in their lives.
Actually they're particularly unfree from corporate interference in their lives, since they never particularly bothered establishing a government that pushes public policy and not corporate one.
