Very interesting work on the baranacle / blackhole map connection. This is making me want to go and get back out out of the bubble and see what there is to see. :)

Regarding Domm's comment: last week I did at least one set of 100+ individual sales of 1t each.

This week, Bond is finally fixed.

Not saying it was me - clearly many others delivered many more MAs - but after recent 'revelations' it seemed like the *only* way to sell them

I also want to point out, my sales to fozard dock was 1t at a time, for 100t of UAs, that is, 100 transactions.

When i sold 200-300 to walker survey, it was generally 15-20 at a time, and so would've been no more than 30-40 transactions.

The effects of 1t trading have definitely been mitigated since i did that, but whether ma and ua sales are monitored by transactions rather than volume is still unclear, though fozard vs walker would give a point in favor of it being a transactional monitor, as does the implied bgs model.

Hey Sim.

As you are the undisputed champion of graphical tinfoiling, I have two images for you.
They are related to Maya numbers, Pleiades, Antares, Hunab-ku and what not. I have no idea what they mean, I just liked them. :D

Edit: Use link on first image, if you have dark forum background.

hahahha dark forum background .... you know you had me looking for stenography and hidden links in that image ... for a sec ... ok a bit longer
Interesting connections with mayan numbers and the different systems though.... :)

Just poking around on the galaxy map this evening, and... has anyone here been to NGC 3199? I'm sure it's nothing important, but on the map there seems to be a cube of stars surrounding the nebula. It's really weird looking.

yeah been there mapped it, theres quite a few already discovereds around the main bodies, ive detailed scanned some unclaimed and moved on as well

LZ can't rep you again so vrep!
Jmanis- repped!
for your sheer bloody persistence & the mental anguish involved in collecting MAs two at a time, then selling them one by one.
That just takes the chocolate (dark, for the energy!) hobnob!

So, where can one find the images of the galaxy and the barnacle dots? I wish to try this overlaying process myself, but with the barnacles spikes map mirrored. This will be the same as overlaying the barnacle spikes on a mirrored galaxy, which is how the galaxy would look from below.

Seems like not many people think that testing the overlay with the galaxy mirrored is important. Only two of the four combinations has been looked at, and I might as well do it myself. Except that I can't find the images to play with :( And yes, I'm fully aware I may be wrong, but science is about exploring all the possibilities, right?

(Edit: and this is an even more glaring omission currently, given that some people think the barnacle symbol represents the core of the Milky Way when viewed from below.)

(Edit 2: found them at https://www.reddit.com/r/UnknownArt...barnacle_layout_plan_with_spike_sizes_canonn/ )

i do hope some of these stories evolve some in the next patch as things are getting a bit slow and stale and i think people are getting fed up with all this going no where and are losing interest in the game.
And you know it's going slow when this thread barely moves for a whole day

I did wonder...

Not that I expect you to respond again - but can we definitely take it that if a station is no longer listed, then it's no longer under threat? E.g our very own Bond Hub in Varati. Someone checked last night and repairs were not available.

Is it a case of waiting for a server tick?

Thanks for popping in as always!

If it's not listed then it's no longer being affected - you can always check in the system map and see if it's facilities are operational.

Here's one orientation using the mirrored Barnacle overlay:

I'll leave this to someone with better image manipulation tools to refine, and produce the counterpart with the overlay rotated 180 degrees ish.

very nicely done...

and i noticed how the barnacle is in the exactly position of Sagittarius A.

fascinating..

p.s. i wonder how many laughs Michael is doing reading this thread :D

Just wondering, why do you think the shell would only be 10ly wide? Wouldn't it be 130-150 like the Merope nebula?

The UAs only spawn 130-150ly ish from Merope, in a shell that's only 10-20 ly thick.

I was merely highlighting the earlier work missing out half of the combinations available using their logic.

One thing to keep in mind; the UA from the merope bubble may be tuned to merope, bringing one around the galaxy with sensors off probably won't help in that case. Other UA bubbles may be attuned to their own star.

I would recommend keeping sensors on for this reason. Can't find something you can't see.

At 16k Ly the UA still looks back at Merope,I don't think they could be used as a tool to find other shells or POIs :( at least not so close to it's point of origin
