Interesting new categories...this system has three water worlds with identical metal content:

WATER WORLD WITH THE HIGHEST METAL CONTENT
FROADI XG-0 C6-3 WITH 32.9% METAL CONTENT - JACK LUMINOUS

[edit] Since there is currently no entry for longest orbital period for Class I Gas Giants, I'll start with this - will probably be broken within minutes, though ;)

CLASS I GAS GIANT WITH THE LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD
FROADI WS-T B17-0 1 WITH 15,806.5 D - JACK LUMINOUS

added all records up to post #2379, will add the rest when I get back from work tonight :D
All this time I wanted to beat Nutter's record and find the star older than his. And, lo and behold, I found one - exactly the same age lol. Long lost twins, perhaps? :D

I don't know what should you make of it, to be honest; I suppose that Nutter's record remains because he was the first to find the star this old.

Really nice find but unfortunately on records that beat current record are added, shame its an m star :(

For my ship details for my current 2 records held, My ship type was and is.. Asp Explorer and my tentative ship name for it is Origin-II

I'll keep it pitched as an idea for the awesome folk who organise these records, the decision is theres ultimately, not us explorers :)

updated your records, don't really want to move this thread to exploration section as its the longest active thread on forum :D I think. Also hope it attracts non explorers to the wonders of exploration by being on main thread.
I will post updates on the exploration forum every now and then to help increase exposure.
Wouldn't be against making it a sticky on main forum though ;D

Very nice. May I suggest that you also include a top 5 list as well for a more general list like the 5 largest stars, 5 largest planets, 5 lightest stars etc .

Thank you so much for doing the longest orbital period records! This gives me more excuses to go fully scan systems even if something is obscenely far out. As such, I've even got a record breaker for you over others presented in the thread already... I knew there was something off about this planet the moment I saw it:

I posted this on reddit because it was obscene the difference in distance between it and its parent star, but more importantly the massive gulf between it and its closest planet. I'm still hoping we get some Semi Major Axis records also, but I understand if not possible.

ICY PLANET WITH THE LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD - COL 285 SECTOR NL-D B13-1 8 - 101,693.0 DAYS
ICY PLANET WITH THE HIGHEST METAL CONTENT - COL 285 SECTOR NL-D B13-1 8 - 14.8%

The cool thing about this system is that there is a gulf of 25 AU between it and its neighbour, and you can see the scale of the difference in orbits in the album I linked. Additionally, it's super close to colonized space! It's got a significantly larger orbital period than even pluto. I love this system.

I apologise in advance if the format is not correct for that post. Please let me know if it's not and I will keep all future posts to the correct format.

Hopefully it isn't considered bad form to beat a pre-existing record by a small margin.

CLOSEST C TYPE STAR TO SOL - R SCULPTORIS A - 867.47 LY
seWxQOi.jpg

CLASS III GAS GIANT WITH THE LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD - EOK FLYUAE QM-W D1-437 1 - 56,553.4 D

CLASS IV GAS GIANT WITH THE SHORTEST ORBITAL PERIOD - EOK FLYUAE UY-S E3-3301 - 2.3 D

if the above doesn't count as a proper orbital record then this one will. (I actually have a few that look something like the above pic, used this more as a ruling on what you are looking for).

CLASS IV GAS GIANT WITH THE SHORTEST ORBITAL PERIOD - EOK FLYUAE OX-L D7-333 1 - 132.9 D

TERRAFORMABLE WATER WORLD WITH THE LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD - EOK FLYUAE EW-E D11-1226 1 - 16,799.9 D
TERRAFORMABLE WATER WORLD WITH THE LOWEST METAL CONTENT - EOK FLYUAE EW-E D11-1226 1 - 32.4%

ROCKY PLANET WITH THE LOWEST METAL CONTENT - EOK FLYUAE OX-L D7-333 4 - 9.2%

ROCKY PLANET WITH THE SHORTEST ORBITAL PERIOD - EOK FLYUAE YE-R E4-1999 A 1 A - .9 D

A couple of very narrow margin records and one 'filler' entry for a new category, just to keep the competition up to speed ;)

Jack Luminous in Salty Dog, 1 June 3301:

TERRAFORMABLE HIGH METAL CONTENT PLANET WITH HIGHEST METAL CONTENT
BLIE AIN CW-N D6-5 4 WITH 33.8%

Screenshot_0000.png

ROCKY PLANET WITH HIGHEST METAL CONTENT
BLIE AIN CW-N D6-5 4A WITH 14.2%

Screenshot_0001.png

CLASS II GAS GIANT WITH LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD
BLIE AIN CW-N D6-5 10 WITH 42,987.2 D

Screenshot_0002.png

The record
CLASS IV GAS GIANT WITH THE LONGEST ORBITAL PERIOD, is wrong that should actually be a CLASS III (i even doubled checked to make sure i entered it right on the forums).

also all my records are from 1 June 3301
SHIP NAME: THE LILLY II
SHIP TYPE: LAKON TYPE 6

Just found this and I'm pretty sure I just massively shattered the current record.

340,343.5... That's nearly a thousand times as long as it takes the earth to orbit sol. Holy christ.
At 20,290ls from the parent star, it's no surprise.
