For settings other than ultra, a system is now in place to reduce the load from rendering planets. This should improve performance when flying close to them.

My overall settings are 'custom' with several entries set to Ultra.
Which specific option will affect checkerboard?

Excellent, Hyford's refuge FC is in a carrier management system ready to get Vista Genomics installed. Then off for a deep space Xeno Biology trip to via Maris....oh wait...new mission type, new Cargo Loader.... DAMN the exploration mission will have to wait.

Does this mean that every player or NPC must sit before a jump?

No - players will be allocated (teleported) to a seat on Jump.

IIRC, if you already had UC installed, you automatically get Vista Genomics
Same for Shipyard and on-foot shipyard interface

Are they decent printers though?

I kept on buying rubbish cheapo inkets from HP which never worked right, and then I splashed some cash on a Brother and what a difference! Reliable and gets the job done.

If people need a printer for the commanders captains room / office, I'd recommend one from Brother to print out those duty rosters.

All HP, all useless.
Particularly the DJ520 - terrible piece of budget plastic that I have repeatedly kicked this morning.

Guys, why does the launcher says "SERVER STATUS: OK"? Shouldn't it say "SERVER STATUS: MAINTENANCE"?

This feature broke some time ago and they fixed it by making it permanently "OK"

I don't believe that's true for Vista but we'll find out soon enough.

IIRC, They did said that Carriers out in the black are not required to travel back to admin centers if they already had UC
