Update 11 Patch Notes

To anyone experiencing higher jump times that usual: this is an intentional feature designed to spread the server load with a virtual backend queue.
Hi Bruce, Is this a temporary feature (I hope). I'm experiencing nearly a 1 hour jump time. That is pretty bad. I'm sat around staring at my screen for an hour when I should be playing the game. What am I supposed to do in the meantime?

he's confusing it with the info about not having to stock it like you do normal modules.

no mention was ever made about upkeep for it.

The confusion came from the fact they (FDev) do refer to them as franchises and dont mention any upkeep costs during the December stream
Guess the wishful thinking made the rest

My jump time for the carrier has increased from the regular 15min to over 45 min is this intentional. The jump time increased after installing vista geonomics, the bar and pioneer supplies?

Initial thoughts on Update 11 after playing a couple of hours:

  • Cannot chat/access Fleet Admin from a sitting position? What a design fail that is. It's the equivalent of Captain Picard having to run into his Ready Room before he can jump the Enterprise. Poor design choice.
  • Still cannot refuel an FC without the need for transferring it to ship first. Thought his update would have been a good time to address another design fail, but alas.
  • Bartender is pretty useless really. As well as the well commented on 100 item limit, how is someone supposed to find my FC in game to satisfy my need for Manufacturing Instructions or whatever? I guess my alts will appreciate the convenience, but it seems a bit lacklustre in design and I suppose will mean further reliance on third-party tools to find carriers offering this service.
  • New jump animation is pretty cool so thumbs up for that.
  • My crew have turned into clones. Appreciate this was needed for the update, however even recycling them seems to offer very limited choices - far less than before.
  • New Protect missions are decent - however it would be nice if they weren't so "Urgent". You can only realistically take one. I took two, and the second one failed before I even got there.

On the whole, a decent update but once again plagued I feel by poor design choices which unfortunately, seems to be an overly recurring theme with Odyssey - illogical and poor design of what in theory should be neat little additions to the game.
 
Okay it's updated to something, when I go disembark it says too high gravity, do you have to have certain services installed for it to work?
