Welp, so much for Spire gameplay. Back to getting shot at for no reason by security NPCs.
Since the Orthrus was introduced, its behaviour was "go about it's business and ignore you unless attacked, at which point it went caustic, launched its wrecking EMP, called in reinforcements, and legged it." The patrolling Orthruses at the spire sites who ignored being attacked were clearly bugged, and its about time they fixed it.

Not if your Spire gameplay consisted solely of plapping Orthruses.
 
Yea, but losing the ability to use Fire-at-Will Turrets and Defend command for SLF is kinda-sorta a loss.
I half agree with you, the (temporary) loss of the Defend command as a safe option is unfortunate.
Fire-at-Will turrets have been an unacceptable risk for as long as I have been in the game, if they weren't shooting the wrong target they were scattering their fire too much so things were annoyed rather than killed.
 
That's really not the cutting remark that you think it is. If Star Citizen was so great then there wouldn't be so many ex-elite players lurking on Elite forums etc, trying to reassure themselves that their $1000 ship jpg purchase was a great investment while watching the nth 30k for the also nth bugged reason. Happy to play Elite and don't need others' reassurance to know that I make the right choice every time I load up the game if I happen to think about it, which frankly I don't, but I'd imagine that's not so much the case for someone sunk costed into Star Citizen.

I don't know what you're talking about. Elite Dangerous cost me 5 bucks more on sale than Star Citizen did. Where do you people get your numbers from?

Veering to much off topic, but I guess you are yet to experience the only well implemented gameplay loop that is the ship store, then?
Naa, I'm perfectly happy with my 325a. The bigger ships all require multiple players to operate and I don't like playing with you know, people.

Sure, on the forum that doesn't ban you for talking about things that aren't fixed or done yet in the game unlike Spectrum. Though, if you want to keep going with the lame swipes, by all means, but at this point you are just trolling.
 
  • Delete GPUWorkTable.xml from the game's product directory (whatever directory EliteDangerous64.exe is in).
  • Reset your graphic driver's shader cache. For AMD drivers this can be done from Radeon Software -> Settings -> Graphics -> Advanced -> Reset Shader Cache. For NVIDIA drivers, you need to delete the contents of "C:\\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache".
  • Clear Windows 10's DirectX Shader Cache files via Disk Cleanup.

Graphics
  • Improved appearance of organic objects when viewed from certain angles. 
  • Fixed an issue with rectangular shadows covering large portions of terrain being shown sometimes when approaching Spire sites. 
  • Fixed terrain objects sometimes turning black when exiting the system map. They have got over their goth phase. 
Art
  • Fixed some emissive materials not changing colour correctly at Spires. 
  • Fixed some missing exobiology decals at Spires. 
  • Improved the lighting and emissive material blends at the Spire console
  • Adjusted some clipping meshes at a Spire where it was possible to sink into the floor. You should no longer find yourselves in the backrooms. 
  • Various paintjob fixes and adjustments for some cosmetic items to make them look extra snazzy. 

Since this morning, massive attack of Scarlet Krait Error.

Game unplayable.

Never ever had it in all these years before.

Anyone else?

They did change a bunch of graphics things. Try clearing your shaders cache described in the quote above from Morbad.
 
man this sux ..i keep getting scarlett krait error code ..i dont know how to fix it ..and of course . im on xbox ..it was working fine yesterday ..now its unplayable
 
HELP!! I can't get this darn thing updated! I click on the Update box and it goes to Preparing to update... and then it just sits there a 0%! I left it for a few hours and nothing happened! Has anyone had this problem and managed to get it working?

Check your task manager to see if the anti virus is busy, AFAIK when the game is validating the files the anti virus can slow it down a lot. The fix is to exclude the elite program directory from the scan and then the upgrade goes super fast. At least that used to be the case a while ago with the old starter.
 
Maybe old players going for the Xmas Arx and reinstalling the game.

Im guilty, tried GeForce Now for my epic account but GFN lack the update (10 tries), and now installing epic, because is he only Arx source for my second account.
